Here's a continuity & cultural reference for The Boondocks episode "Mr. Medicinal": Continuity: This is the final episode that Uncle Ruckus did not make an appearance. He was mentioned, however, on one scene. Robert is told he hasn't seen a doctor in 57 years, i.e. since 1953. Cultural references: After "promising" not to smoke, he returns to Grant's house and is offered a "Skywalker" strain of marijuana. This is an allusion to the latter's voice actor, Mark Hamill. Robert recounts a story of a man who smoked w**d laced with angel d**t and ended up in a chicken coop, only to be told that he is thinking of the film Friday; voice actor John Witherspoon was in that film. As of 2023, recreational use of cannabis is legal in the state of Maryland. So, I'm 41, stay at home Dad with our 2 sons and because of that, the past 8 or so years has been nothing but work work work and no time for friends outside of said work. Best believe though, that when I did work, all my closest homies were black and we created some of the greatest memories over our lives/careers with that particular company & for a decade! We're all "grown up now" and have our own families to look after and whatnot, but we still keep in touch and they know about this channel.
