When slavery ended millions of Africans migrated west and became cowboys. Their stories, and legacies, didn't make into the old westerns, or U.S. history books, but you can still learn about them in a little hidden section thats labeled "black history" in a public library near you.

Love your review!💖 The banjo is the foundation of country music. The banjo is an instrument brought from west Africa by the slaves. The banjo then became the guitar. The slaves use to entertain their masters with the banjo and folk music. Folk music later became County Music. So Country rap isn't far fetch!

Country and rap have ALWAYS had commonalities. Since, soul and R&B (not to mention MANY others) usually started and have a large connection to the south. For example, some rappers have a twang or talk with an "ax." Also, some slang is southern-based, so-to-speak. So, I think this was inevitable. Not a bad thing, at all.

You're getting it wrong though most of the white country fans don't dislike this because he's black but because it wouldn't traditionally be country music and lil nas x does not come from a country background. I'm an old-timer in New Mexico and can definitely relate to this song. I've always liked the old, gritty country western songs ("Ghost Riders in the Sky," etc.), which are kind of like the "soul" of the west. And I can also relate to the blues and R and B. I love how the two worlds come together in this song. It's funny how art and music tend to bring us together while politicians try to put a wedge between us.

Kid Rock and the guy from Everlast (his name escapes me right now) has been doing this for over a decade. I love this song. The fact that Was X came out right after his first hit. That's a very bold move. So now people are giving him crap. Saying he's a one hit wonder. That country music is one of the only things left in America that is dominated by whites, besides hockey 🤣. So stupid. It's a fun song, with a legend, and a cool video.
