Let's grow old together, and die at the same time. Such a powerful line. Not only because it is the ultimate thing to say to a significant other. It also signifies the fear of losing someone. You want to spend your life with someone, but only if you die at the same time. So you dont experience the loss of that person.

"Let's grow old together and die at the same time" one of the most romantic phrases IMO. If someone says that to you, wow that's another level altogether. It's more like a deep soul connection and not the superficial crap we are being fed most of the time. Still sounds great in 2018!

When I was dating my ex a lot of bad shit happened. Stuff that created the foundation for my PTSD diagnosis. This was a song she introduced to me and I listened to it a lot when my heart was hurting from her abuse. I couldn't listen to it after we broke up, simply because I knew it would trigger flashbacks which were quite regularly after we broke up. It wasn't until I looked her up about 2 and a half years later that I realized she's just a loser now who latches onto someone new when she gets bored, which made me feel shit in a way but I felt empowered by the fact that I was free from her now. It's like a weight fell off me and I could breathe without her in the shadows of my thoughts. I decided to listen to this song to see how far I'd gotten, like a test. I felt many things, as you can imagine. That lyric "to lose my life or lose my love", it felt like it was talking about the fact that during the relationship I had to choose between living my life or losing her cos I kept getting ultimatums, that realization hit hard. But I eventually fell in love with it, a song I listen to regularly as a reminder of my strength and growth. It's now my favourite song of all time.

@@peterkoppanyi133 That's the thing, I'm the one with BPD. She was there when I got diagnosed, she knew the symptoms and thus my weaknesses what strings to pull. She's just a twisted, cruel person. I get that she had bad experiences in previous relationships but that's no excuse to treat others the same way in return. I fought and fought to make things right, but she just negelected my mental health in favour for torturing me.

Dark, epic and intense. The ambiguity in the lyrical meaning, does he mean abandonment of god or a male partner, gives depth and intelligence to a music scene that badly needs some. I love the image of a soul soaring above the trees it makes me yearn for the otherworld. Thank god for this band.
