Im from south America, we do not live amongst whites but other races and believe me when i tell you, my parents taught both me and my brother about racism and basically avoid the other races. I thought they were bad for instilling that in me so young, but as i got older, i see the reason and i appreciate them for that. Isn’t the caption my life story! I was a child playing in Zambia when a group of ‘health care providers’ majority European, and 2 natives. They just shouted for all children playing to line up. As obedient children we just did as we were told. Oral drops in the mouth, and they dismissed us after that. Not a single parent in sight! This was a playing area, in middle class neighbourhood (mother a nurse, father an accountant) so it’s not like we were poverty stricken and lacked health care. Anyway fast forward in my 20s, I discover I have a blood disorder. Unknown to my mother (who was a practising nurse 12 years at the time she gave birth to me), she too was perplexed on my diagnosis. We didn’t understand it! Even today the local university have me on their list ready to take my blood for more studies.
