White Nights Watercolor Short Review + Painting Process

A New Watercolor Review Video! This time I'm testing the St. Petersburg White Nights Palette and I really love the colours! Very vibrant and easy to paint with. The Palette has 36 colours and was a bit more expensive than the Cotman Palette. But you get full pans instead of half pans. So there's a lot more stuff you can paint with ❤ I hope you like the Video~❤

TILLITH I feel like the Cotman has colors that are very similar which is why I moved some blocks to my main work space watercolor palette and the others to a smaller one I would use for travel or a day out

I just love you so much. You are one of my favorite artists for sure. You art is so pretty, and I love your creativity for creating each masterpiece, and how you mix things in the portraits like trees and the ocean, like Stille Wasser Sind Tief, wich are my favorite one. I got so much inspiration from you, the way you color the things is absolutely amazing. I'm 15 years old, and I hope someday be skilled just like you (I have problems using watercolors, it's too difficult for me, but I'm trying at least haha). Ich könnte deine Kunstwerke stundenlang betrachten! 😫💕 Die Farben, die Emotionen... Was ich besonders liebe sind die Augen! Deswegen hätte ich nie erwartet, dass du mit den Augen am meisten Probleme hättest... Und wow! Die White Nights Aquarellfarben sind ja super pigmentiert! 😍

The colour swatches appear surprisingly close to the wrapper colours which is useful. I also see the new style palette boxes are almost identical to the WN Cotman Studio palettes which are much nicer than the old style one.

Using a fine line sharpie and writing the color name/# on each pan seems to work best.

Ahhhh, I have been waiting for this. ^^♥ Personally I am in love with the WN colors, considering the price I really wasn't expecting much and they turned out way, way better than I thought they would.

Thank you for the great review! I have the White Nights 24 Set and really liked those colours! I'm currently thinking of upgrading my watercolours and therefore was debating whether to get the Cotman watercolours or a bigger set of the white nights - so a comparison between these two would be amazing! 😁

MoonArtDreams the white nights are WAY better than the cotmans. white nights is artist grade and uses little filler but i guess if you want to try something new, go ahead!!

WN cotmans are student grade and white nights is artist grade. If you want to upgrade, better brands would be Sennelier, Schmincke, Holbein, M Graham and Daniel Smith. If you want more vibrancy in your paintings I would not recommend WN (even the artist grade) because I find the colours are a lot more dull than other artist grade watercolour sets.

Hello from Saint-Petersburg! I have white nights (белые ночи) too. I like them but,they are not so good at wet on wet technic.

I used wet on wet technique for the skin and it worked here very good. Sometimes it depends also on what kind of paper you're using to get the best result for the Watercolours. In my case I think 300g hot-pressed Watercolour Paper works best for it.

You need to spray your pallet before you use it and then wait 30 seconds then paint

that flipping separable palette part is SUPPOSED to be like this - for your own comfort. it is a mixing tray, which you bring to the sink to wash without wetting your pans, duh!!!
