BIG FACTS! Growing up with games during the 90s and 2000s was super cool. As it was a golden age for drum and bass, especially jungle, and techno music (acid, trance, hardstyle). Games like WipEout, Roll Cage, S.C.A.R.S., Extreme-G 2, 1080, Ridge Racer Type 4, Gran Turismo, SF 3rd Strike, Planet DOB, Unreal Tournament, and so on. And not even just with gaming. TV programs such as Toonami that featured drum and bass bumps and such in its promos. I could go on, but yeah, I feel you. Drum and Bass till infinity.

I can't conceive the concept of monetizing music that isn't yours
@Oscuros Жыл бұрын
Americans always shill for money that isn't even theirs, they always prove Gramsci right about hegemony unintentionally. I guess if you take it up the gary glitter long enough, one day it'll be you doing it. A noble aspiration to hold. Only statistically, and especially in the US with the worst income inequality in the G7, not really. That money does not magically go to the artist the made that tune. That's not how anything works, if you understood that, you would not be shilling for the rights holders like that. The way it works is that they pay you a tiny piece of change for your art, writing or music, and they own the copyright in perpetuity after that. So that's not what motivates artists who make music in games, there are no split rights, dues or anything like that with those kinds of compositions. So all you are doing is shilling for the rights owners who exploit artists like that, and they don't really care, because there are always hordes of starving artists willing to do things like that to get a chance, but statistically, most of them don't make it anyway. Regardless, what these parasites tell you at the time is that they'll give you "exposure" for the pittance they give you for pouring your heart and soul into something, and even this person is giving that artist more exposure, so that if anyone wants to go back and hire that person, if they are still doing this for a living, which is highly unlikely, then they can employ them again.

It's jungle, breakcore derived from jungle as a subgenre but it's more complicated and messy. It's an experimental genre more like Imo, it derived from jungle but doesn't do it the conventional way. Uses the same drum breaks, but more messy and lacks bass. Venetian snares and aphex twin is an easy classic example

This is old school jungle, breakcore didn't hit much in the 90s till the 2000s where it became more popular. Aphex twin and venetian snares are classic examples that you should give it a try, never call any song with these drum break samples breakcore as everyone else is doing rn after listening to sewerslvt, etc
