~OFFICIAL LYRICS~
So I woke up with the curse, I was searching I was looking through the purse
Taking measures to defend, because you swore you’d always treat me like a friend
And I always fall, a little short in front of you
Yeah I always fall, a little short in front of you
Alright, & if you still won’t go, tell your sister that I told her so
Tie that shirt onto another pole, and take a dip into the stash you stole
If you think I’m gonna leave that golden girl up alone all night
I may have tricked myself, she couldn’t shake it so
I guess you might be right
So it’s easy to believe, well I suppose it simply wasn’t meant to be
Well my mother told me first; she said “when things start gettin’ bad, look out they might be gettin’ worse”
And I always fall, a little short in front of you
Yeah I always fall, a little short in front of, a little short in front of you
Alright, & if you still won’t go, tell your sister that I told her so
Tie that shirt onto another pole, and take a dip into the stash you stole
If you think I’m gonna leave that golden girl up alone all night
I may have tricked myself, she couldn’t shake it so
I guess you might be right
We’re gonna keep the lights down, keep the lights down, keep the lights
Keep the lights down, keep the lights down, keep the lights
Keep the lights down, keep the lights down, keep the lights
Keep the lights down, keep the lights down, keep the lights down

This song has a 60's garage band drive, combined with Thin Lizzy guitar harmonies, an 80's style synth, and has elements of the Stokes in it. This song is perfect!

This is probably one of the best-sounding modern songs out there, in my opinion. No offense to modern music, but most of it just doesn't have soul to it. This song definitely has soul, and it's organic. I thought this song was from the 80's when I first heard it, but I looked it up and realized it was new. It put a smile on my face to know that good music still exists.

I've been hearing this on my alternative station for MONTHS. I finally found it a minute ago. Like a lot of commenters have said, it sounds not dated, but classic. It's nostalgic. It's just so refreshing and stands out so much from a lot of the modern songs that pay before and after it. And it's damn great too.

It's a funny thing music. Everyone thinks that their taste is the "best" or they are more "cultured" in the realm of music, but really if you like something and it makes your heart-rate climb a little, or puts a smile on your face it's all done. The musician('s) have done their job. Music is so awesome.

I found this band by accident a while back. Glad they have a new album out. I'm an old guy and these guys remind me of some of the good bands from the 70's mixed with some power pop bands from 80's to today. Think they have the potential to be a really really good band. Hope they show up in Cleveland at some point.

Wait, MTV was "music related?" When was that? Next thing you'll say is that they played music videos. Or that VH1 played music videos. Yeah, right. Or at one time, Bravo had intelligent, independent films more like PBS. Fat chance.

@The Arrayz The harmonized guitars say 70s, something about the compositional structure, maybe the vocals says 80s to me, but the production warmth is more like the 90s. I think that it sounds like a throwback track to the 70s/80s that was recorded in the 90s, which is probably why some people would say the latter.
