Each year the White Rock Blues Society holds a competition, "Battle of the Bands" style in order to find the best Blues Band and Solo/Duo Artist from Western Canada to send to Memphis for the International Blues Challenge.
The White Rock Blues Society hosts sometimes more than a dozen Blues Artists on stage and asks an independent group of judges with extensive music history to choose the best performers.
This year in the summer of 2015 the judges picked Arsen Shomokhov as the Best Band, and Jesse Roper as the Best Single/Duo Blues Artist to represent the White Rock Blues Society in Memphis.

The White Rock Blues Society received their charter as a non-profit society in June 2007 and since then has been actively promoted Blues Artists from all over North America.
