Tal does NOT miss a checkmate twice in a row. I would bet my life on that. The man had brutal, God-like accuracy. He just didn't want to destroy a group of kids. I draw all my games against youngsters on purpose. I'm certain Tal did the same. Which makes him one of the greatest in my eyes.

Tal is giving the team a lot of chances. He did say to his mom "Mama, I dont defile children."
@tomt57457 жыл бұрын
In my mind M Tal perhaps does these "mistakes" to make the game more interesting. Tal is the grandmaster of luring the opponent into making somewhat murky moves. He is one of the grestest players there ever was. Greatly enjoyed your video, sir!
@Roman-uc3bs7 жыл бұрын
if you've seen any games by mikhail tal at all, you know this was a planned draw at the end. A 1900 rated opponent could have checkmated the blundering white team faster than this. Heck, I'm barely 1600 and I'm screaming the mating lines at my monitor.

Ahh, he was obviously toying with them towards the end. The way he just ignored the knight at the start was so crazy!!!

Honestly, Attack is the only way to win a game. Defence only helps in holding off your opponent from winning, it will get you a draw at the most! That's why, tigran Petrosian has so many draws and Mikhail Tal has so many wins! Yes attacking game makes you prone to defeat as well because it's a double edged sword! You can't have my cake and eat it too.

I actually remember that game! Not the moves, but the fact it was published in "Pionerskaya Pravda" newspaper. It was a newspaper - price 1 copeyka (1/100 or rouble), ~8 mln copies per issue, 4 pages, issued two times a week - so the game took a few months, actually. There was somebody in the editorial on the pioneer's side (the level of chess master probably) to comment and suggest the moves, because the move was determined between the issues by majority of correspondence votes (paper mail or postcard - I don't remember). I didn't participate myself, but interested, and I remember to be surprised and disagreed by some of the pioneers' moves. I thought this was not a best way to apply democracy, as we all know today, since the "mass voice" prevailed over the interesting ideas. But this was fun anyway. The "young pioneers" were 9 - 14 years of age. Now I understand Tal didn't want to win. I remember the overall disappointment by the result of this too lengthy a battle. From my honest feelings: pioneers would accept the defeat quite normally. Best to you!
@SurenAghabekyan4 жыл бұрын
Mich thanks a lot! Well once you gave me a clue I can spend some time to find that article! I am also temped to think that Tal saw the winning line, but he could write something like this: "And now it's puzzle time, try to find the mating line for Black"🤣

No u r wrong ... at 6.50 .. white can move his knight instead of pawn as u show .. to c3 and then to e4 .. so that it guards the black knight from making check and the other way is at 6.50 move b2 pawn and next move bishop to b2 so that knight cant make a check but this is not the best way .. 1st option is the best move knight ... simple.. so white will not lose ... why would they agree for a draw if one thinks he could win
@mehedihasan-bn1ro6 жыл бұрын
I couldn't believe Mikhail tal would miss 2 checkmates..... grandmaster tal what have you done
@kidasuncion67466 жыл бұрын
I think, he doesn't missed that actually. Tal was considered to be the greatest attacking-chess player of all time. In some variations, he calculated a lot and some of them difficult to understand. In the case of missing two checkmates, considering it was an endgame, I think, he actually did it with a purpose. We didn't know his reasons, may be. But I don't believe he missed that two checkmate lines.🙂
