@flashtheturtle - I wish you the absolute best of luck. Chickens are great and if I didn't have them as pets as a kid, I literally would not have had a childhood. This pair looks EXACTLY like the ones I used to have and mine hung out in a corner of the kitchen at night time perched and fluffy with their heads stuck inside their wings. Ahhh the good old days. Oh they're so gorgeous, haha the one on the right can barely see through the fluff! We sometimes trim the feathers around their head so they can see better, it's best that they have at least some peripheral vision. Love the soundtrack :)

I useto have a brown silky called Ed nd she was legendary :P She could stand in the same place and just peck at a little patch of grass for easily over an hour at a time ^^, must have been the happiest chicken ever hehe. I think silkies must be the most easily pleased species on the planet ^^. Miss my old silky :( these ones are nice though.

I had them as pets for a long time. They would peck around the backyard all day long (though you still need to feed them) and they would come up the stairs and sleep in a corner of our kitchen. They are gentle and peaceful. I say there should be a worldwide ban on eating them.

@therealshizuka It is very unlikely for people to eat them in the US, they are just normally kept as pets and the eggs are used for health/spa reasons.People i know have them as pets. Most who do consume them are usually other countries especially the ones they are originally from. But even there they are looked highly upon. I heard they didnt taste very well anyway...pretty gamey..Oh well, I think they are sooooo cute! xoxoxox

@bamachick36078 Indeed, they are so cute! We had them as pets, 14 in all, and when it rained, there were the goofy ones that stared all day at the open doorway for the rain to end and when it didn't, they just went back home. 2 hens, however, were intrepid and braved the fat rain drops to have the feast of their lives with the worms! Since they were wet all day, they kind of looked like badly-dressed mini dinosaurs. Kind of ugly cute!
