So my personal headcannon with this comic series is that this is White Diamond’s redemption arc. This whole alternative world/universe takes place in White Diamonds mind. After the ending of the ‘Change Your Mind’ episode, White decided to use her own mind powers against herself to temporally lose her memory and imaging herself as Steven. Mainly to understand Stevens and Pinks perspective, but also to better understand the value of imperfection.
