By far the best Jim Carrey parody from In Living Color! This shows why he became a star and Wayans brothers gave him his start.

@@nursemendoza4413 No at being a SMART person. I worked in radio back then and I’ll tell you a few things. 1. He sold 15 Million copies of the album 2. The single “Ice ice baby also sold at least a million. 3. He was so hot he had concerts and appearances booked out for at least a year. ( some say YEARS) Each of those dates had a “booking fee” attached to it and that fee was paid to Ice and was non-refundable. So all that money came in handy when it all came crashing down. He was able to walk away without ever having to work again. Now he has kept trying to hit musically with not much success…But he didn’t waste his money on it. Time passed and he branched out into other areas. Then popularity came back and people wanted to see him again, so he is still making money from the silly little rap song he did. He managed his money, he was married to the same woman for about 20 years. They divorced a couple of years ago. His net worth is estimated at 12 million. Again not bad for a one hit wonder. That is why I say SMART. So many others have had more and now have less. Most one hit types have nothing. He is a multi-millionaire,father to two young ladies. Edit: I don’t know who managed him. Because I don’t think a 22 year old kid knew how to take advantage of all he took advantage of (including the bomb movie “Cool As Ice). Whoever the person was, Ice listened to him and that fact has made his life what it is today.

Another funny parody by Jim Carrey is "Informer" by Snow, called "Impostor" on the show. Check out the video
@georgep.burdell72374 жыл бұрын
Doubly funny since both Carrey and Snow are Canadians.
@karenmurray46083 жыл бұрын
Saw it. Really hilarious.
@poetofnoreturn77083 жыл бұрын
But its a little bit diffrent, 'couse Snow actually had quite a lot of street cred at the time and wasa gangsta for real. And that flow was also pretty organic for him, since he grew up in predominantly Jamaican neighborhood. So, real talk, he wasn't an imposter at all

Allegedly this singlehandedly fell the career of Robert "Vanilla Ice" Van Winkle. I remember a video where he said he saw the parody and knew "it's over".

Jim Carrey might be the most talented improv artist on earth. His shoe went flying and he got it back on his foot right on cue.
@tdsims19633 жыл бұрын
That was a mistake?? Fucking brilliant!
@clays96972 жыл бұрын
I doubt that was a mistake. Seeing as there were lines about his shoelaces written into the pre recorded vocals

Such respect for Carrey's monumental talent. How many comedians would take this idea and actually say : 'let's do it!'. The only white guy in and all black comedy show. Carrey was fearless.

I remember Vanilla Ice performing Ice Ice Baby at the 1991 AMA then Jim Carrey putting his spin on it, omg one of the funniest things I have ever seen. The attention to detail was brilliant. If you have not seen both performances watch the performance by vanilla ice at the AMA (which was hosted by Keenen Ivory Wayans) then the Jim Carrey performance. You'll love Jim Carrey even more.
@RocStarr913 Жыл бұрын
The performance that Carrey is parodying was when Ice did the MTV New Year’s Eve Party in 1990.

The phrase "word to your mother" is often associated with the American hip-hop group Run-D.M.C. It gained popularity through their song "Walk This Way," which was a collaboration with Aerosmith in 1986. In the song, Run-D.M.C. raps the line "Word to your mother" as a shout-out or expression of respect. While it's not entirely clear who specifically coined this phrase, it became a memorable and iconic part of the song's lyrics and the hip-hop culture of the time.
