Whitechapel "Third Depth" from the album "The Valley".
LYRICS:
A fantasy awakes
A dark desire to
Watch you slip away
Into oblivion
I can’t wait to see your flesh turn pale
When I hear the last breath you take fail
Even with you dead, I still feel the pain
In my heart, things will never be the same
Now I must live out this dark fantasy
I am not the man I came to be
Should I feel this way
I’m not supposed to
I can’t find it in me to care at all
It’s a shame we don’t see eye to eye
That’s why I am here to take your life
Serenity never felt so empty
Sanity never came back to me
I’m not stable

So this album is clearly going to be a concept album and i have been trying to guess the whole story is in a nutshell. Its about Bozemans childhood which is confirmed in brimestones description. Also in brimestone the whole song is about killing a person for some yet unknown reason and in this one the killer is regretting it and how it didnt change anything or fix the problem this murderer had. From black bear i didnt really get much out of story-wise after quickly analysing the lyrics. Maybe someone else will I'm super excited to hear the rest of this album and if there will be even more clean vocals from Phil. He is now in my personal "top 5 people who can sing you to sleep and scare the fuck out of you" list lol

Whitechapel was the first metal band a friend showed me when I was 12. I remember the song was Prostatic Fluid Asphyxiation, and I just sat there with this bewildered and disgusted look on face, and I've been hooked ever since. This isn't that album, but it's still Whitechapel, and it still gives me chills hearing it. Who gives a fuck if Phil sings cleans? He sounds phenomenal. Listen to the live version of him doing No Pity for a Coward, then come back here and listen to the cleans. He is an inhuman vocalist, 1 of a kind. I have tremendous respect for him and Whitechapel musically. His range and dynamics are captivating. You do you, Whitechapel. You guys are killing it.

Getting Tool vibe. Lyrics - awesome. Vocals - awesome as usual. Guitar - not impressed. Seems so bland . Been Whitechapel fan but Black Bear and this song guitar work is so dull. These lyrics deserved better riffs I think.
@hayes4762
@hayes4762 5 жыл бұрын
I really liked the riffage in Black Bear, simple but catchy, easy to listen to. This song may be lacking but I think that's sort of intentional for this song. It's a quieter song, it doesn't need huge riffage, this song is all about the lyrics. Those are my thought that you didnt ask for.
@Prathik62

@@hayes4762 Yeah. that's so catchy and easy to listen to. Its almost like Groove so much that I imagine Stevie T's dance to it. Dint think it suited such lyrics. Its like they wanna write dark music like their first album but also they are happy so let the mosh dance to it. The other two songs are not of much exception IMO.

I don't get it ,no hate, but why all of you have to cry all the time about the clean vocals.....They are trying something different (and guess what, it's really really good!) , that's how they want to write their own music. Phil has set the bar really high by combining cleans and growls, just enjoy the music....
