I am a professional detailer also, I recently acquired the Sony WH-H900N - h.ear 2's. They are bluetooth, noise canceling, gesture controlled, super comfortable and deliver amazing sound quality and noise cancellation. Can be listening on 30% volume while operating a buffer at speed 4 and hear the words of the song perfectly. Highly recommend, I would like to try the B and W set you have for comparison, they look very nice as well! Cheers!

awesome work as always Jim. I too work 5-6 days a week doing paint correction details, always long, tiring hours. And like yourself, find the customers reaction makes it all worth while. I realise you have many views and comments, but would appreciate a shout out in a future video. You videos keep me inspired to keep improving my Detailing game. Thanks alot for your time and effort in what you do Richard @RBDetailing

Hey Jim thx for the time and effort you put into these vlogs - they are awesome 👌even my girlfriend likes them 😅 I would love to see a room tour in your garage - where you show your stuff, tools and organisation ✨ Maybe you can tell something more about how you sell a detail to your customers, when the customers knows not much about your work or about detailing at all. So I have started from Vlog 001 and now I am on vlog 027. I am curious to know if you ever go into detail on how you do the wash and the decontamination ( Iron & Tar removal) stages? Thank you for what you do. Love watching your videos. Something calming about them.
@jaykay79327 жыл бұрын
Jim; really love the tooth pick idea for cleaning and correcting. Do you find that after touching up chip marks you have to hand polish that particular area, or is using a machine fine? I've yet to invest in a DA polisher as ive been doing my cars by hand, however my elbows are starting to get sore!

Another great video. What's the biggest mistake/learning curve you have made when working on a customers car?
@CharlieVane217 жыл бұрын
I would guess that a detailer has to be careful of getting water in the electronics. Could prove very expensive.
@jaykay79327 жыл бұрын
you cant go wrong really, my first mistake was impatience. The first time i tried to polish out scratches on my car i cause more harm than good. I knew nothing about clear coats, cutting, decontamination etc etc... and its easy to rush when you are in your garden on a sunny day, hearing all sports cars and bikes flying passed. Detailing is easy once you master patience. Problem is, here in the UK it can rain more often than not... so what takes Jim 5/6 days takes me that much in weeks sometimes. Just finished doing my Golf R post winter detail and it took me 3 weeks!!!

Love the content and I'm always looking forward to the next video! Question for you, what is the biggest thing you have learned over the years of detailing? If you had to look back at when you were "newer" or "less experienced" what would be the biggest thing you learned as your experience level grew and that you wished you knew sooner rather than later. Thanks!

Great work Jim, I'm really enjoying watching and learning from your vlogs, many thanks for taking the time to make, edit and post them. Don't know if it's been asked before but I wondered if you ever did any form of wet sanding? just wondering if a system like the mirka abralon 4000 grade discs via short throw air da may take out some of the more serious defects you might encounter thus saving you time on the cutting stages. Cheers Norm.

Hello Jim, I am your fan from Russia. Your works look's great. Maybe somebody asked you this question, but i want to ask it by myself. Why do you especialy worked by the dual action polishers? because orbital is more powerful and works faster.
@Audittr21087 жыл бұрын
Great opening sequence with the Lotus. Must have taken ages to set up all the camera angles and even drones footage to boot! I see you're using the PC a bit lately. Any particular reason for getting the old girl out?
@Quibjeb7 жыл бұрын
Been thinking about this a lot lately as I detail cars on the side to avoid re-cleaning everything you always want to start at the top go to the bottom you never want to do something that's going to make something you already cleaned dirty again clean the interior first or the exterior? Everyone I see do it cleans the outside first but seeing as I get a whole bunch of dirty cars I always find for me it makes more sense to clean the inside and then clean the outside any cons of this that I'm not thinking of or pros to doing it the other way
@duncanyoung82397 жыл бұрын
Quentin Piliero I'm the same as you Question, I use my air compressor to blow the dust and dirt forward from under the seat and loosen dust frm the headliner etc and find the dust- not all of it but a decent amount- settles on the exterior, hence why I do the interior first

First thing's first, those drone shots were awesome! Great job on both vehicles. Here's a question, what do you think about applying sealants or polishes or waxes on windshields? Do you think it's worth it and even helps with the rain while driving?
@jaykay79327 жыл бұрын
Thats quite a good question. My understanding of polish and wax is that they bond with the vehicles paint work (similar to how contaminents do). Id say polishing and waxing glass is a waste of time... however i do polish and wax the light covers on my cars (which are plastic). As for glass, you can buy specific products which cause water beading and resist the windscreen wiper blades for longer. I use Gardx Glass gard. It came free with my Golf R and is brilliant stuff.

Don't go for the 4cylinder 1 series diesels, they're notorious for timing chain failures due to the plastic guides snapping and destroying the engine.

If you have your rims coated with a protective coating do you need to iron out the rims every so often? Or just use soap and a wheel cleaner?
@TheUnbrokenx7 жыл бұрын
Natty Brah Regular wash with soap and water is normally enough to keep the wheels in great condition when coated. But u could use a PH neutral iron remover from time to time.
