A heads up!! If you mix downy laundry softener or snuggle (original scent) with water, and spray the cows it'll keep flys off them. We used it with the horses it was amazing.

I promise it's amazing we use to have horse flies so bad. Make sure it's original scent for both dryer sheets work wonders also on the halters or a dog collar.

@Erin Birmingham I’ve had far more problems with essential oils, actually. As much as I appreciate the quality of certain oils that are many that produce natural yet severe allergic reactions, unlike some softeners that are free of allergens and are dermatologically tested.

Congratulations on the solar panels! Great way to harness a natural resource. I am from Brazil as you probably already know, and my parents which are 90 years old now have always used solar panel to warm up the water in Brazil since the mid-80s. In Brazil we don’t have warm water coming out of regular faucets only when you take a shower. But in their house because they use the solar panels they have warm water that comes out of all the Faucets in their house and we can even take showers w the water warmed from the sun. It’s fantastic! I have an old Brazilian recipe in how to make sweet condensed milk out of regular milk, and since you guys have full fat milk you can use that to make the sweet condensed milk caramel. If you want the recipe let me know because I would have to translate it for you. There is also a spreadable cheese you can make with the milk fat very easy. So if you want both of those let me know it’ll take me a little bit to translate but I will be happy to share it with you. Who knows it may be something that you start making on a regular basis with your extra milk. When I went to my grandparents house when I was a little kid my job was to make butter in the Old Fashion Way, I’ll have to see if I can find a picture of what it look like and send it to you via messenger. As always you guys are so awesome. You make me homesick and you put a smile on my face every video.

I’m so glad you have vendors working with you and hopefully making some money from the site. I wish you all the luck for the future. Will you be keeping the calf and breed and milk her as well? With any luck the boys will want to continue the farm as well. Have you considered a farm stand to sell your surplus or is there a local farmer’s market nearby? Or do you have just enough for yourselves? 🌻🥰

I tried to tell them which of the two adult guineas was the male a few weeks ago. The body shape, sound and the waddle size makes it easy to tell which are male plus their more aggressive behavior. My five females prefer to just walk around with head to the ground looking for snacks, while my 12 males walk around looking for a snack or another male to fight. I refer to them as the Secret Service, they are the first line of defense protecting my property from predators.
@colesbackyardcoop4 жыл бұрын
