@dfwboxingisback91738 жыл бұрын
You are correct, except my facts are not from the movie. I was around there during this time (no connections to any of them) but i had a front row seat while it all went down. He kept a good relationship with Eazy after he was fired, as well as his family after his death. Jerry was at the funeral (with Yella being the only NWA member at the funeral) I don't believe his firing had anything to do with any kind of major incident. They were both skimming the top of the books. What I recall was they were going to do a reunion and the other members did not want Heller involved. It also is very obvious they indeed did him dirty..I mean why exclude him, yet claim the accuracy of the character. It's pretty sad, IMO as you could see his interest here was his legacy. Unfortunately, the new generation of little fuck-boys who, as you stated, are demonizing him due to a movie. Perhaps they should give equal time, pick up a book (his) and then make a decision. Ironically, I was always ambivalent toward Heller, but with all this bullshit toward him now I feel for him as he's getting a raw deal here....and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I agree with him, I didn't reckon much to the movie was all bout Dre n Cube and glorified them, yet didnt mention Dre beating up woman and potrayed him as a good guy. and they made Eazy look soft when it's known he was the only one really whpo'd put in any of the work regarding the lifestyles they use to rap about. dont beleive Suge beat him up he was never seen in the media beat up and was one of most famous ppl in America at the time, Dont beleive he was ever broke n selling weed when he ran Ruthless! and dont beleive he cried seeing the Chronic on a billboard knowing full well he was a good business man and was making money off of it. so although i dont know much about Jerry listening to this and watching the movie makes me think allot of Cubes ill will towards him is why he was potrayed in such a bad light

Apparently Jerry was really upset about he was portrayed in Straight Outta Compton. He was really stressed, he was driving, had a massive heart attack, crashed and died. I think he truly did care about Eazy and the guys. NWA was bound to fall apart, too many egos fighting for attention and money. I think Jerry had good intentions. He was really torn up when Eazy died. I watched that Lifetime movie with Michel'le and she portrayed him as almost a father figure to her. I think some of the guys were a little disrespectful toward Jerry and said things about him being Jewish, which I don't understand why someone who had been beaten down because they were gangsters and stupid, and called racist horrible things, why someone who went through that kind of discrimination would turn around and make anti semantic remarks about Jerry. Makes no sense. I'm sure not everything in the movie was 100% true. They have to make it so it's entertaining enough for people to go see. The movie was good, but I'm sure not all of it was true.
@phillymichelle83708 жыл бұрын
***** I absolutely agree with you. I saw an interview with Charlemagne, he is a rapper and has a radio show I think, he saw "Straight Outta Compton " and had a lot of interesting things to say about it. First, Eazy E was nowhere near how they had him portrayed in the movie. I saw that Eazy's kids said the same thing, that Eazy was 1st and foremost a gangbanger, he wasn't scared of ANYONE, including Suge Knight. If Suge did actually bring a bunch of thugs to Eazy and force him to let Dre out of his contract or they would pay his mom a visit, and then roughed him up. Eazy would NOT have sat there and said okay, no problem. Eazy would've probably pull a gun out and started shooting or at least would've retaliated. There's no way he would've just agreed and that was it. Also they made Eazy seem soft, like when he was driving and saw the billboard sign with Dr. Dre's Chronic album shown on it, the movie made it look like Eazy was ready to cry and was all upset. No way, they said, if Eazy truly saw that billboard, he would've pulled over and shot at it or torched it or something. Also, the movie made Dre look like super hero and just an all around great guy. Back in the day, first, Dre drank a lot and when he got trashed he would beat the crap out of his girl, Michel'le or whatever girls he was with. They also conveniently left out the part when Dre beat the crap outta that MTV reporter lady Dee Barnes. Left out all the kids he had with different women, left out his scary temper he had, any pretty much anything that would make Dre look bad in any way. They left out that Michel'le that dated Dre and then Married Suge Knight. A lot was left out of that movie. Dre and Cube did that movie script, they made the characters look how they wanted to, they left some stuff out, put extra stuff in and really didn't get anyone else's input into the movie. They didn't ask any of the other NWA members input or opinion about anything they wanted to put in the movie. So we need to take the movie with a grain of salt and remember it was Dre and Cubes recollection of the past so it won't 100%non fiction. Still we pretty interesting though. Must have been crazy to film to have actors portraying you. Speaking of getting input from key players, they must have cramped their pants when Suge Knight showed up on site supposedly wanting to talk to Dre about getting a cut of the royalties and wound up running down 2 guys and killing 1 of them then driving off the set. Suge thought he should get a cut of the movie royalties because they did have an actor that was playing Suge, and also Suge lost a lot of money in prison and Death Row was auctioned off so he needed money and I guess thought if he went there and intimidated and threatened Dre, he would give Suge a piece of the pie. Guess Suge just doesn't have that effect on ppl like that anymore.

N’awlins Boy here I graduated from John Ehret High School in Marrero, Louisiana in 1989. I remember when I bought my first NWA cassette. I was 17 and just had saved enough to get my first ride. An old 81 Z-28 with a worn out suspension made it look lowered. Had the old Cragars on it. Went to Radio Shack and bought 2 realistic 6x9s for under $100. So I’m jamming with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. A lil past my time but I’m a late blooming Bastard so you know. I heard Easy singing on another homies stereo. I bought it and that was my sht man!! Still is!! Led Zeppelin and NWA! We some mixed Heinz 57 raced MF over here. Boosie come out with the best name for us. Called us the Trailer Boys. Willowdale boys. Just a 52 Trailer Boy now though. Proud of my hometown and the talent it has produced. And have all respect for my Homies. All but one of my young homies are still alive. They tried making it seem like they were the gangsters n street dudes when that was e and Dre making up that part where he punched a piru in a room full of them and they all acted like he was crazy🤣🤣Dre would’ve got murdered if that actually happened, and making E seem broke n shit when he still had money pumping and Dre just put so much balony shit about e to cover the fact that he was insecure about himself hitting Michelle and so forth

Jerry lied cube did call in EAZY son to read twice actually and cube and Dre made the decision that they need a more polished actor to do the role of easy. seems to me like Dre and cube made sure they looked good in the movie but they kinda clowned EAZY. straight up they just did. slot of shit portrayed in the movie about EAZY was untrue

Kevin Williams Eazy e looked great in the movie. I think it depends on people's talent. Like if the actor that portrayed Eazy e had better talent than Eazy e son than that's why Cube and Dre went with the actor and I don't blame them. Eazy e son is already known and has a platform. Cube and Dre gave a good opportunity to the actor so he can start his career. Not everything has to be an argument. Somethings are just better done the right way.

Would have been a better movie .. stop the spin .. let us make up our minds on who is who and what’s what .. don’t just feed us a version of events that fits what you want the people to believe

+Bywy jimma tbf the movie only focused mainly on Eazy, Dre and Cube. hardly any MC Ren, DJ Yella and D.O.C. and there wasn't anything about Arabian Prince at all.

Could some of you get your heads out of your arses for a moment? It's acknowledged by at least Cube that Eazy's part would be the most difficult and would definitely need a professional. Cube's son could play Cube because, you know, what is that part? 🤷♂️😂

Ha ha and of course Ice T didn't trust him, now that is my day and I can tell you what happened. This fool Ice T was a career hustler, I mean the protoypical "Hey sexy mama, slap me some shoog pimpin hoes" cape wearing, cane walkin' pimp always talking about money. It's like the Kardashians...no one knew why he was known (or I didn't), he just was. Then he started rapping, we laughed. Colors came out we said 'fuck that' ha ha. Seriously he was easily the biggest hustler out of those three dudes (Eazy, Jerry, and Ice T) ...Ice T saw through all that shit, That dude was about money. This is sad to see though, I'm sure Jerry did some shit to make them script his character as such, but it wasn't as villinous as they make it to be (but this is Hollywood there is always a villian). I don't think Jerry was much of an adult figure to to them, and they bailed the first sign of trouble. Fascinating story though....Even then, not being a rap fan we all followed it because it was what everyone was talking about. Ha ha

In regards to ice Qube He is still bitter to this day because he still believes that he should have come paid more money that anybody else in NWA more money easy or Dreor or yella whoever else it was he wanted top dollar One thing that he did not understand it will dubbed or stand until he became an Actor is that your a rapper and the last person he gets paid and a record label will always make more money than you it doesn't matter what you do She feel that the money that he was basically going to get as a signing bonus because he did not sign a contract with ruthless records he was basically and unsigned free agent but as a rookie you're lucky to get any money no matter how the lyrics you wrote Typically unless you in a contract state that you get a writing credit you're not gonna make any money from writing lyrics of any kind

None of NWA came for him when he put his book out!!! But he comes for them as soon as they do a movie about there own first hand experiences!!! Straight up culture vulture!!!!
