I enjoy my tr5 ik multimedia white2a plugin. But im excited to give this a go.
@audiotoolshed Жыл бұрын
Don't know that one! Need to check it out.
@DeRaNgEdOfficial Жыл бұрын
White2a plugin by ik multimedia, which is part of t racks. I like it a lot and it is very good in my opinion. I want to try softubes tube tech cl1b, ssl 4kb channel strip, ans massive & mu by Pulsar. Sorry off subject but if you review these, please let me know & thank you.

my fav so far as well, will check neold though
@audiotoolshed Жыл бұрын
an LA2A comparison is in the planning, the IK Multimedia will be in there.The other you mention I dont expect to do , because every video takes up soo much time to create, i have to make choices. I will do a video on a Pulsar plugin very soon though.

@@audiotoolshed Ha! Well it's working sooo good I don't have time to write a review (but i Will) This is the first time I've bought a plug on hour 1 of using it, in a long time!! Love it!!🤟

I like having several versions of classic hardware. There is always space in my plugin folder for the most up-to-date emulations of the classics. For now, I use the UADx- its fabulous, but Blast Rooster is also great. Bx_opto for total transparency and Fuse Audio labs leveler for clean “leveling”. I will definitely give this a whirl, Neold is a fabulous company.
@audiotoolshed Жыл бұрын
Fun fact: Fuse Audio and Neold share the same developer ;-)

@@audiotoolshed well what a lovely fact! Wasnt aware of that. I’m afraid that guy doesn’t get enough attention, Fuse Audio Labs is a great company.

Thanks for the videos champion! Do you know when it will be possible to download the plugin? because right now there is no possibility
@audiotoolshed Жыл бұрын
Yeah i dunno! It should have been downloadable by now. If you have beta access, you can do it but for some reason you cannot via the normal installer.

I'm running the demo right now, and it's fabulous!

I believe it's supposed to be a model of the UA LA-2 not the LA-2A but I could be wrong about that.

I was using Hornet Plugin's HA2A because of the Auto Peak Reduction feature that comes in very handy, but this one may be taking it's place. Thanks!

This one is insane. I'm tracking vocals with it on.

NIce! Using it subtly or fully hands on?
@GetSongsDone Жыл бұрын
@whitenoisestudio not too hard, but definitely not subtle.

I thought r37 was a tilt eq…..
@audiotoolshed Жыл бұрын
No, it's a sidechain filter. Quoted from UAD: ''The LA-2A's R37 Emphasis control - that “set-screw” knob on the lower left of the front panel - controls a shelf filter circuit in the compressor's sidechain input for frequency-dependent compression.'' So it will let you emphisize more on the high frequencies. For instance the API2500 and distressor have variations on this curve.

I still can’t get use any PA stuff until they update for ventura, so while I’d love to try this, it just crashes the DAW 🤷🏻♂️ They’re the absolute worst at updates.
@audiotoolshed Жыл бұрын
Plugin Alliance itself doesn't create plugins, the developer on that platform do. Basically each on their own, with differences in how much they support new OS updates. But the PA installer isn't up to par, and never shows if there are any updates at all.
@jimhardiman3836 Жыл бұрын
You should wait to update your OS until developers have released compatible updates.

I just don't think some of these digital emulations can quite do it. I mean, actual tubes really do make a difference. I have the same feeling concerning Black Box and The Oven.
@Rhuggins Жыл бұрын
I truly go back and forth on it. Maybe tubes really are special…I have invested several thousands of dollars on high end HW with the full realization that plugins are very very close. I still go back and forth though. Not tube related- but watch the video from Spinlight Studio on YT- comparing an audioscape 1176 to the UAD versions. It includes a blind test and a challenge. I did very poorly and was really kind of shocked how close the plugin is - specifically when I DONT know which is which. Its a complicated thing and I dont know how I feel about it
@massivebeatzz Жыл бұрын
Oven and BB are amazing! Just sound good, even without doing anything.
@audiotoolshed Жыл бұрын
Good points. I think comparing is hard, you really have to get into clinical testing situations to find out what the difference is. Slight differences in for instance volume will make an impact on what seems to sound better. I personally still feel that proper hardware is a bit more grabby, and after you have passed audio through a proper hardware preamp or compressor it's easier to mix with. Plugins are really close though and obviously I use them all the time.

@@Rhuggins I remember Gregory Scott of Kush Audio saying in a thread that the biggest differences between hardware and software fall on EQs and compressors. He stated that the sound you get from analog EQs is due to the way they handle phase and it is something that digital has a hard time replicating exactly.
@Rhuggins Жыл бұрын
@@Ultimate_Wasabi I could definitely see that. Definitely worth having if you have the means and passion. At least for me personally - if just on the master buss. Speaking of tubes, the Manley Massive passive does indeed do a “thing” that is so very hard to capture in software
