You didn't even change the type of reverb down at the bottom which was set to medium hall. Why not try other spaces?
@TheMrFinalizer6 жыл бұрын
This is not good reverb for snare. But try it on el piano with modulation. It is really has something when coming to modulation like no other reverb. So, it is good for synth and el pianos, when you need to modulate them. And with long settings.
@djpuzzleofficial5 жыл бұрын
Try messing with the early late EQ more and early late mix knob you can get some really cool rhythmic effects as the early is a much shorter reverb. It sounds great on a guitar!
@ownedbymykitty2706 жыл бұрын
You should have tried the presets. Maybe there are non-metallic algorithms. Also I don’t think you can judge a reverb by just using snare. I think a follow-up review for this plugin is warranted as this one doesn’t seem fair.

Good point about snare and metallic. I've got so many reverbs, just got Crystalline - which has its own character. Some of these things are so deep - and the algos vary so much. I'm about to pick up Klevgrand Brusfri for my guitar which I demoed and it works amazingly well on my grounding issue (that the guitar tech can't seem to remedy).

Try to insert an ordinary denoiser like the Waves X-noise after the reverb. This will help you with the metallic reverb sound. It also implements some randomness to the reverb which makes it more interesting. I often do this trick on a piano part, if the piano is the leading instrument in a song.
@yvngd886 жыл бұрын
broo u know how can i use the x-noise without all that delay compensation? that plugin got like a second of delay it't crazy
@Kevin-vq6rv6 жыл бұрын
"... without all that delay compensation," you ask? Delay compensation is a smart solution for latency. I work with Steinberg Nuendo and I can turn off the delay compensation by activating the second button in the left upper corner of the project window, named as "Constrain Delay Compensation". It is true that the X-noise and actually every plug-in from the restoration bundle is pretty DSP hungry. If you need a lot of those plug-ins, just render the track to a new audio file or use the Freeze function. Another somewhat more expensive solution is to buy a Waves SoundGrid Server. The SoundGrid Impact is not so expensive.

metalic is plate and spring.....very popular reverbs. where this shines is the early / late, the ducker, decay control and modulation all in one, just makes it easy having it all together. picked it up on sale when it first came out. great on drums and many things.

I just bought "Kleverb" on GAMiVO for $4.55 US. The ducker (compressor) puts Kleverb in another league. It's worth the full price but couldn't afford it at this time (sorry Klevgrand).

Reminds me of an old Boss RV-70. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, I like 90s synthetic sounding, ringy digital reverbs a lot for some things and use my RV-70 pretty regularly.

Or a more hi-fi version of the plate algorithm in the Lie 6 Verbzilla pedal, even. Again not necessarily a bad thing, I use one of those on analog drum machines all the time.

In my opinion, almost all reverberation plug-ins have a metallic sound. Nevertheless, there are many good ones on the market. I personally use Eos2 from Audio Damage. It’s a fantastic reverb plug-in which is based on the well known Valhalla DSP. About Klevgrand, I have a couple AU from them and they are pretty good. If you want to, check out Eos2 from Audio Damage. It won’t disappoint you.

Valhalla all the way, can get some kind of metallicness but is usually quite warm and nice. Bought this for the iPad, also I think it was the most expensive reverb plugin. It's spectral density is so poor that it's insulting. Would be so even at half that price. Also I saw the mentioning of acoustic jazz on their product page, and how this reverb is great for even that - this gets uncomfortably close to the realm of false advertising in my opinion. Brass instruments for example do not respond well to low spectral density acoustic space simulations. From a sound engineer's perspective this looks like a borderline scam.

It certainly sounds metallic. Almost auto tune in reverberation (just kidding)! iOS is becoming professional the last years. Many great and outstanding synthesizers, DAW’s, plug ins (Fab Filter Pro Q2 is available on iOS!) , grooveboxes, Audio Units etc. AudioBus makes it even more interesting by linking up different synths DAW and effects via audio and MIDI. Times are changing.
