Thats great! It's always nice to sit back, relax and be a tourist for a change. Best of luck getting your motor back working properly! Can't wait for the next episode. Cheers from Haiti!

Hi Kika and Dan, I read your post about your Mom and it was very touching, and fitting. I was aware as Dan and I were emailing about something else. That problem is now solved. I follow both you and Nike (and many more) But to see where both of you started and what you have accomplished gives me hope. Take care guys.

This comment is a bit late, but....I lived in Grand Cayman in 1975-76. "Stingray City" had not yet been discovered. Last visited in 1992. The rays were just becoming popularized. Your videos are interesting for glimpses of how much things have changed there. Such is the way of the world.

Small world - we must have been there the year before you - underwater hockey is a lot harder than it looks but a fun night with a great bunch of people.

So Karl takes a few spa days knowing you have enough distractions that he needn't worry after you. Excellent turn of events by the curious crew. Cheers.

Getting a house, with a view of the horizon is just beautiful. He's right, the horizon is very calming. House, boat, beach doesn't matter. Find it, you'll never regret it; try not to spend your life in a box with no horizon.

The stingrays are so tame after being fed so much. Engine trouble is a recurring theme. You must get a new engine. Have you thought of getting an electric engine which are made for yachts?

I'm amazed that they aren't more afraid of people getting stung by the rays?!

I think thats Sting ray, rather than a Manta ray.. The size differance (on youtube) is huge, don't know about in real life :)

How did you like the catamaran? I hope all is well at home. Don't forget to video when at home to give us a look at how much different your life is at home that is not floating. Have fun Nike.
@WhiteSpotPirates7 жыл бұрын
The catamaran was ok...not my cup of tea, but fun to be at the helm for a while. Being home is a nice and well needed change for a while. It's beautiful to be with family and friends and it's a relief nit having to worry about my floating home for a change ;). Looks like I might have the engine problem figured out, too :). Well, in my head, still a lot of work ahead for the repower itself, hehe. Thank you for your ongoing support, Muir! Ahoy, Nike

Another excellent video. A question, though: were you cautioned about the stinger, or barb, on the rays?
@WhiteSpotPirates7 жыл бұрын
Hi John, they said to shuffle your feet in the sand not to step on them which is what makes them sting aparently. I asked if many people get stung by accident but they said not really. Fingers crossed I guess ;) Ahoy, Nike

My buddy and I were just talking about water, rain catchment systems, on board storage of water, showers, how to heat the water, power consumption to heat water and power consumption to make water. How much water do you use, say for showers, cooking, cleaning and drinking? How do you heat water for showers? How much water does your water heater hold? Can you share some info on how you deal with the subject?
@WhiteSpotPirates7 жыл бұрын
Hi James, water is always an important topic for sure. First for tanks I have 200l in plastic tanks, 2x200 in flexible bludders. I have a raincatcher but no watermaker. For showering I use a 5 liter fumigation tank that lasts for 4-6 rinses (depending on how much I allow myself a little splurge ;)) I usually jump in and do all the soaping wi salt water and ten just rinse with fresh. Dishes are done wi salt water and rinsed with that fumigation thing, too. I have three jerry cans and the flexible tanks for shower water and laundry and the water from my tanks is used for cooking and drinking, where I would say I use 3-4 liter a day maybe (if there is no rain, I refill my tank with the flexible tanks). Hope this helps :) Ahoy, Nike

The last thing you want on a boat in the tropics without AC is a hot shower. A cold fresh water shower is heaven! Only the super rich run a genie all the time with the AC on and take hot showers.
