4.5G water 12lb sugar 3.25 oz or 92grams Alcotec 48 Turbo Yeast Add sugar to sterilized bucket. Add some boiling water to sugar, stir until sugar is dissolved. (approx 6q in example) Add cold water to bucket (approx same quantity as hot water) Take temp, goal is 100-110°F Add yeast to bucket, stir for one minute. Add more water (6 more quarts, with a temp between 100-110 degrees.) fill bucket only to desired 4.5G mark.

Fun fact: This drink was invented in Finland And if you don't want it to taste like yeast and if you want it to be as clear as water just let it sit in the fridge for 3 days.

HEY GREAT VIDEO, VERY DETAILED AND INFORMATIVE.... I AM JUST CONFUSED BECAUSE I SAW ANOTHER VIDEO THAT PUTS IN A AIR SEALER TUBE AND AFTER A WHILE THE LIQUID STARTED BUBBLING OUT OF THE AIR SEAL TUBE AND INTO A CONTAINER... BUT YOU DIDNT. I THINK HE MADE VODKA AND YOU MADE WINE...? DOES THAT MEAN IF YOU SEAL IT AND DONT LET ANY LIQUID COME OUT DURING THE PROCESS, IT MAKES WINE? OR IS THAT JUST ANOTHER WAY OF DOING THE SAME THING?

i have done several batches with alcotec but there is something off with the flavor, i suspect that they add other chemicals besides yeast that alter flavor as the yeast is intended to be used for distilling later where those chemicals wont apoear in the distillate. But to each their own.

leave an extra few days for the content to settle and use a hose to syphon out the alcohol when its clear and it wont taste of yeast, add a clean hose tho or introduction of bacteria will make the alcohol taste of sulphur and if this ever does happen you can neutralise the sulphur with copper so you could throw in some old cleaned pennies and it would work

I plan on making two things with this. A very simple sugar wine like what you did, and strictly use it for mixing in my morning orange juice, to make a more economical streamlined version of the Mimosa. The other is mead. I bought two of those turn key easy flow bee hives because I can't afford to buy bulk honey all the time If I am getting wasted on mead year round. I was going to use Altotecs TurboCarbon and TurboClear to tighten up the colors, taste and smell. I would think it'd be more important for the sugar wine because of it's role as a mixer and you'd obviously want a very inert flavor and scent profile. Cheap is my #1 goal. I am tired of buying malt liquor when I could be getting drunk on better quality, home made booze. Whoops I rambled...My question is have you used those two products from Altotec? If so what do you think? Would you also recommend adding some potassium sorbate to kill off unwanted fermentation?

I've got some turbo coming in the mail. This is the one for fruit and sugar. I'm going to test it out, but even if it's just a mixer, that's fine. I can save my pint water bottles and add a packet of flavoring that's for the bottles. I don't like how cloudy that looked, so I'll clarify with some egg whites. I wanted to make some plum wine, but couldn't fine juice. I seen prune juice and thought it would be like raisins. The bread yeast used up every drop of sugar. It's sour and needs more flavors added for a 2nd ferment. I've added apple juice, peaches and sugar. When I get the turbo I'll add some and see what it does, LOL I'm wondering if prune juice added like raisins would be a good substitute in some recipes.

It should be noted, in a LOT of countries, using sugar alone is illegal. Not that we care, but most countries require fruit to be added.

Where you got that yeast? I tried with baker's yeast but alcohol level was not beyond 5%. Turbo yeast isn't available with Indian online market, and for placing order on international site, I'm afraid that custom department will interrogate.

Yeah I like to mix mine with grape juice and hey honestly bread yeast, they have done a study and it HAS made up to 12% its just the flavor is undesired to wine snobs. We are not wine snobs. I remember when I was a kid like 16 and I made my first batch and took it to a party and the people were skeptical at first and it had them floored by the end of the night, then they began to make it after.

Decent wine or ale yeast is super cheap and tastes way better than bread yeast. Just get that. Don't have to be a snob to pay 1.00 for some yeast.

This is so funny... I was LOLing so hard when we got to 12 fingers my spousal unit had to come have a looksee too! BUT...Ummm I'm a biochemist. I wonder if there might be some nutrients in the yeast packet that should be left behind by distilling. Boron/Borax for example. Yeast need a pinch but it is often used as a pH buffer in higher quantity for many applications like this. A little is ok but drinking in quantity will add up to trouble. other thoughts have I too. I want you to know that it is ok if you say one half or half n half or hefalumps. I think that commenter is a little half vast hissownself donchano

So, If I were to caramelize double the amount of sugar needed to produce the 20% alcohol, Boil with just enough water to give it a nice consistency whilst adding some good coffee for added flavour. Then cool before adding some Turbo Yeast, would this become a 20% Caramel/Coffee liqueur when fermenting is complete?..
