500w is alot for a pellets stove start up. I guess its a pretty old design. I think our pulls about 150 to 200w during the start up an then it will pull between 25 to 80w. Cool video and great to see that its works just fine. AS a pellets stove owner for 14 yrs myself, its important to clean the burn Chamber every week and vacuum out the ashes with a ash vacuum. Then give it a deep clean at the end of every season. Clean the auger, distrobution fan, exhaust fan and the smoke tube going to the chimnney. And remove all dust buildup inside of the stove. Pellet stoves works pretty flawless if given regular maintanence, ignitors are the most common part to wear out, other than that. There should not be much of an issue. Happy pellitering and enjoy your stove 😀

Start up feed should be on low, high blower. If it shuts off quickly, low level switch is bad. If it shuts off after an hour it’s most likely your high heat switch.. sensors. Replace those before changing the control board. Much cheaper fixes. I’ve had mine for 13 years now. This exact model

I'll try that as every since I had a maintenance guy come out cause I was lazy. It hasn't run the same. It overheats even with full damper and low heat to slow hoper down.

I have one. Had it in the family since new (late 90's) Ours is the Advantage 2. I just fired it up for the first time in 3 years and the room blower isnt working. I will check that fuse. Anyway, I found it to be very particular to keep the flame "perfect". Fuel feed and internal air blower must be exact. Facing the front, on the left is a rod that you pull out or push in to control the air blowing on the flame. You gotta get it just right and pellet drop to keep the flame going. Too much fuel drowns the flame, too much air does the same. Hey that rhymes :) I do not love this machine.

Those blower motors can seize up if they are not lubricated each season.

Clean out all your fans and squrill cages. check and clean all the holes in the burn pot. go to the front lowerhalf of the stove and brush out and clean the exhaust fan and channel. then stand by for some real heat 200F plus.

Did all of that this season. Have you measured 200F on your pellet stove ?

Seems like it ran too hot and shut itself off. Did it shut down again?

It did run super hot once. But once I cleaned off the light sensor lens, this pellet stove works perfectly. It's now mounted inside the house. A real joy.

Having the thermostat sit on the pellet stove by vent is not to bright sunshine.
