Gee Thanks Starlo - I thought you where dead. Hadn't seen a Vid / Tv show for years. Glad to see that you are alive and kicking. I'm Tasmanian, so I may have to pay a visit to the NW. Cheers

Fortunately, rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated. 🤣 I hope you stick around and check out some of my other content. There’s a whole playlist of Tassie Tales. Tight Lines, Starlo (not dead yet)

Absolutely loved this! I was born in Tassie but mainly fished the Scamander River. I loved the concentration on Rory's face. He's one of those 10 percent anglers who quickly learn, adapt and grow in their new surroundings - whether reading a small wash zone tight up against the rocks and plucking a half dozen pigs from seemingly unfishable water to quickly adapting to a new species and plucking a true elbow slapper! Never met Rory but I loved his articles on anything rock fishing, learned a ton from reading them and always knew I was in for a great read when one of your articles, Steve, included Rory! Please pass this on to him. One of my heroes along with you, Steve! Cheers, Frank

Thanks so much for that great feedback, Frank! I've passed it on to Rory, too, and I know he'll be chuffed. You're spot on with your assessment - Rory is one of fishing's "quiet achievers" and is quick to adapt to any new scenario with the minimum of fuss and fanfare... A real "fisho's fisho" in my book. Tight Lines. 👍

What an awesome session on the whiting & squid. The water looks amazing so clear. Tassie has a bad rep for its weather but I have lived in most other states but my heart will always take me back to the island state. ATB Brad

Theres something about rory 😂😂. We also have calamari that i caught as a child with my dad in the bay. Most of the "calamari" we eat here in south Africa is humbolt squid now. Sadly all the good stuff exported. Except my dad would never eat calamari claiming it was bait😂😂
@StarloGetsReel Жыл бұрын
Thanks for that! Yes, a lot of Aussies once viewed squid only as bait... Times have indeed changed.

G'day Starlo, I fish.....a lot, all over South Australia, beach, rocks and kayak. I never catch any fish. I watch all the vids and learn as much as I can, yet I just never catch fish. I've literally been fishing 15 times in the last 6 weeks and caught nothing over-size, not even close! If you ever come to South Australia, can you please take me fishing? I'd love to learn what I'm doing wrong, please! I would appreciate it so much and I'd be stoked just to catch something. Love your videos mate, keep them up

@StarloGetsReel2 жыл бұрын
They've been slowly building for the past decade or so, but definitely getting better, bigger (and more attention!) in last 3 to 5 years. It's such a good news story! They're being really well managed, too. If everyone does the right thing it should only get better.

what model of the anarchy did you use for squid fishing and could i use it for whiting fishing?

I actually can't remember as we own a couple of Anarchy rods. But they'd all be excellent for whiting.

Damn nice whiting Steve! ---- how would you rate the area for kayak fishing?
@StarloGetsReel2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Definitely not for the inexperienced kayaker. Strong currents and often choppy water. But if you're on the ball and experienced you could definitely make it work, I reckon.

Hi Starlo, Great video. Fantastic fishing. To get the whiting do you stay in the estuary or do you need to head out a bit further?
