I don't know which part you're referring to... but if it's the "Netflix" argument, I think Whitney's point was that mentioning out loud that all of these streaming services "passed on your special" lowers your worth in the entertainment industry and may make other businesses want to pass on you. That's why she called it a "strange move." She doesn't think it's a good business plan to mention that publicly regardless of whether "that's what fans want to know."

Unpopular opinion (apparently lol) I like that conversations with Whitney are so eclectic. You can’t listen to it expecting a clean through-line, but it’s great to listen to when you’re doing other things because when you stop listening for a bit you only ever need to skip back 10-20 seconds to get all the context, AND it’s the shotgun approach: you probably won’t be invested in all the topics they get to but since she’ll mention a ton of them, there’s basically no chance you won’t get anything from the episode. I also feel like she mirrors and amplifies the energy given to her so it depends a bit upon who she’s recording with. I recommend her episode with Lex Friedman if you interested in listening to her podcast. That’s the best one imop.
