In real life, Whitney and her dad made up before he died. She paid for his funeral. She didn’t attend the funeral because she was worried that the paparazzi would flock the ceremony so they could get pics of her. She was steeped in negative press at that time. However, she spent the previous night alone with her father’s body in the funeral home. She had her own private goodbye. I wish the movie would have told the true story. This narrative made Whitney seem unforgiving.

@@JloveLamar Watch the Oprah interview. Straight from Whitney’s mouth. I believe Whitney’s words. Also, maybe she did keep saying she was going to go to the funeral and never did. So what????? I still believe Whitney 1) Had her own private goodbye with her daddy. She would NOT have buried him without spending some time with him, 2) Decided at the last minute not to go to the public funeral because of all the commotion it would have caused due to the paparazzi’s obsession with her, and 3) Reached into her own pockets to pay for that funeral. Ain’t nobody else paid for that funeral but her.

@Abu Ansari No, the assistant specifically said they kept calling her saying his condition was worsening and she kept saying she would come and see him. Her words were, "and she never did." I believe she paid for the funeral. Whitney was a Leo. I can't see her going back to see the man who sued her for 100 million dollars. Daddy or not.

Not sure how true this scene was, but the man was dying and still acting greedy. You would think one would reconcile, be humble, loving, and forgiving knowing that death is near. Was he planning to take all that money to his grave? Humans are peculiar, we take nothing as we come with nothing. Whitney did not attend the funeral, but she paid him a private visit before the funeral.

Thank God I didn’t watch this movie.Omg.I saw the news reel John Houston was an elder on his sick bed accompanied by an associate. He couldn’t move his body with out assistance. He asked WH for his money. Reports say he was parasitic. That poor girl. She experienced a type of hell on Earth many have been in her shoes: alleged greed family betrayal deceiving behavior. SIP.
