Yes! Glad you guys reacted to this legendary performance. And it is legendary. Mary j Blige commented in 2001 that Whitney allowing her to sing with her on that VH1 stage in 99 changed her life and open doors for her all over the world.... THIS is soul music

Oh cousins y'all have to see the Grammy performance of Waiting to Exhale with Whitney Houston, Mary J Blige, Brandy, CeCe Winas, Aretha Franklin and Chaka Khan performing together. When I tell you they ate that performance, there was no stage left. They had a standing ovation at that award show that night. Plus they we're singing and shouting after the instruments stopped playing like at the Black Churches when the choir and pastor still shouting after the hymn just finished. Then they had Ellen presenting an award after the performance 😂😂😂😂😂😂

It don't make any sense the way these two legends sung this song. They sung this song all the way to the ground until there was not song left. When Auntie Mary was going off and jumping when she was singing "ain't no, ain't no, ah ah ah ah aaaaahh" while Auntie Whitney was singing "ain't no way, ain't no way, ain't no way, ain't no way" in a low voice all benched over, the song was over. I feel like this current generation especially for Black mainstream artists, this type of singing does not exist at a commercial level. The "soul" is missing in today's music, plus Black singers don't have the experience of the Black Church like Mary J Blige and Whitney Houston. Plus Black artists today are marginalized to just being Hip Hop and RNB artists even though African Americans created every genre of music from Rock music to Country music, EDM and every genre of music in America. It's the racist white controlled music industry that steals and white washes music from African Americans and uses Hip Hop and RNB to degrade the Black community. You can't even listen to the radio station no more without Black artists cussing and degrading each other and creating oversexualized explicit lyrics. Even today's R&B music is explicit, but then again today's mainstream R&B is dead, wrongfully intertwined with mumble rap, and white washed with Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Bruno Mars (not Black), Adele and Sam Smith appropriating Black Urban Culture and being pushed by the racist white music industry to perform "Soul/R&B" music after white America stole Rock, Country, EDM and every genre of music from us 😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑 I'm hoping real artists come back especially for the Black community. I'm unfortunately part of this current generation of music and while the elders in my family have greats like Whitney Houston and Mary J Blige to listen to at family gatherings, I'm afraid that 50 or so years from now The Black community is going to have explicit and graphic music that's on the radio today's as cookout music in front of our grand kids 😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲
