Thank you for paying tribute to this legend. It's sad when you think that she destroyed all that talent, this god-given talent. It was a gift damn it ! It's too bad really. Rip Nippy.

Again I will eternally say, Whitney is first and foremost a gospel singer. Whitney singing gospel is out of this and any other galaxy.

This was from her baby tonight tour and she included it on the ABC special bodyguard was not out yet. But there were very close releases! The abc show was great maybe react to that. She had the most beautiful lips and teeth when she sang!

One of my favorite live "performances" from Whitney. It was part of her ABC special. I've never heard her sing it live other than that but I recorded it and played it so much that I can still sing every word and adlibbed hum.

You can’t be serious? You’ve never heard her sing this any other time?? So you never watched her sing it on one of those VH1 specials where she’s wearing black? When she sang with CeCe Winans??

she sang it at VH1 and on tours in 1990

Her best live performance of This Day was on VH1 Honors 1995 💜 This is a Edwin Hawkins classic.

Absolutely unbelivable. One of those voices of a lifetime that really conquer an entire world. Exceptional appeal apart from the quality. I still think we have not seen anything like Whitney, Mariah and Celine on mainstream since they debuted.

We have not no. It doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. There’s so much talent out there. Idk what makes Hollywood think Cardi B is talent… it’s so sad. Imagine if people were influenced by a Whitney or Celine instead of that. So sad.

There’s so much talent that is slept on it’s unbelievable. If you were to ask someone from the 90d even early 2000s that filth and prostitution would be praised in just a few years in Hollywood they’d look at you like you were crazy.

Yeah that´s why I say mainstream.

I expect more from you Pres. Pat. This is before the bodyguard was even a movie. This is from the "This is My Life" special on ABC. The footage is during the I'm Your Baby Tonight tour.

I mean she can sing, i just don't like the sounds and tone of her voice. When she tries to be emotional get just gets loud like she's yelling. I'd take aretha, gladys or patty any day over this one.

patty +screaming, shouting and yelling, Aretha post 75 is a scream fest. Now Gladys is not.. But you actually negate your point....I wish Aretha could use dynamics like this or Patti and not just FORTE...
@chrislandis6873 Жыл бұрын
@@odumosuolusegun2781 Patty and Aretha may have screamed in their later years, Houston always screamed. Plus her voice lasted about a decade, all the others lasted over half a century.

It´s a pretty unususual opinion. The world was pretty much at Whitney´s feet due to the beauty and appeal of her voice. The whole entire world no matter country or culture. Crossover appeal for decades. I don´t think we can say the same for the others you mentiones (which are unbelievable too). Whitney´s voice is truly pleasant.
