Look at her. She seemed sooo happy in the ‘90- ‘91 era. Just by her energy and demeanor. She was 26 years old, a multi-millionaire, just met Bobby, and on the way to mega superstardom in ‘92 with The Bodyguard.

The very 1st time I heard Whitney was I'm your baby tonight video. The same moment I knew she was the most talented singer and gorgeous woman out there. To this day I have the same exact feeling about her.

This album was massive for 1990-91. Though I knew she was everywhere before as a baby but this was the era where it was like WHITNEY, you know? :) Least for me, 6, 7 years old. :D

I always wondered if they could smell what was coming, did they think she could get bigger than this? . Whitney's IYBT era to the explosive Bodyguard era was similar to Michael's Off The Wall to the extremely explosive Thriller era. They were only getting warmed up.
@timmy8412123 жыл бұрын
@@mariahyohannes Good point! They were definitely getting warmed up but I do think that album went farther than they thought.

When I was born, Whitney was 30. She was on the Bodyguard tour. In a couple weeks, I turn 30. I’m working on my first album and putting a tour together, Whitney is my biggest inspiration and I wouldn’t be here today, if not for her.

I remember this. The airport story is one of my favs, cause she really was a round-the -way, humble, Jersey girl AND that Bitch at the same time! Miss her so much. The voice. The beauty. The humor. 😂🙌🏽Our Queen. ❤️❤️

The first time when I recognized Whitney and her voice was when she released Miracles in 1991. I was 4 years old then. 1991 was a very good year in music

She should have stuck with Eddie, because Bobby was bad news from the beginning. Everything changed about her as soon as he was on the scene, her demeanor, everything changed. 80's Whitney was the "Voice". Don't care what anyone says he was the downfall of her.
@ChristopherReid-s4r10 ай бұрын
That is true because he didn't take care of her in the right way.He was too caught up in himself instead of letting her shine.

Love Whitney but she was not raised in the projects. She came from a well to so family
@mariahyohannes2 жыл бұрын
Well she and her brothers were born in the projects and later moved to a middle class neighborhood. Her and her brothers have always said that's where they chose to hangout was in the streets/projects, and that makes sense because all three of them were on hard drugs before their 18th birthday and of course her aunt Bae who primarily raised her lived in the projects, and that's where her church was, so that's what she meant by growing up in the projects.

Eddie denies it, he seems embarrassed by her.
@Thegazelle10002 жыл бұрын
@@mariahyohannes I would not call it "embarrassment". Eddie was a womanizer, a player and He was dating several women at the same time. Claiming her in public would have ruined his game. What do you expect from someone who denied his own child with Mel B? 🤷♀️
@Thegazelle10002 жыл бұрын
Oh they always brought up her relationship with Eddie Murphy back in days. You need to read or watch interviews (with Arsenio Hall), they were always asking about him 😄
@mariahyohannes2 жыл бұрын
@@Thegazelle1000 He's still denying it after her death. Eddie was/is very much embarrassed of the relationship they had because of how Whitney's personal life played out. Eddie isn't married to Nicole anymore, there is no need to hide or lie about their relationship, how can it mess up his game if Whitney is no longer alive????He can't even own up to the fact that they were interested in each other, he literally said they were "contemporaries" and that's pretty much it. Like I said he was embarrassed. Eddie is very smug and has a superior complex, people who live the type of lifestyle Whitney was living are beneath him, I mean that is clear in the way he treated her.

People say she sounds intelligent. Yeah! For a 26 year old talking about love... I'm sure she learned a lot later in life where those words would be much different after a lot of experience. But she sounds like a 26 yr old to me and I'm 52 now. When she said this I was 19. So I would have thought the same or followed suit with what Whitney was saying but by then I actually had been there and done that and she was 7 yrs. older than I.
