lighteyes214 No... Whats sad is that interviewers would ask her dumb questions like these... Putting her in the "awkward" position to have to; like "is Kevin Costner the sexiest man in the world." Why would she think that when she had a husband. She was just being HONEST! To HER, her HUSBAND as the sexiest. Why would she LIE and be fake??? Is that what you would have her be??? That's why I'm glad she doesn't have to deal with all of this CRAP anymore. She could NEVER satisfy you people no matter WHAT she did or said. I cant IMAGINE how much pressure that was. Constant scrutiny. The woman LOVED HER HUSBAND. Whats so wrong with that????? Jeeeez. smh

I'm with all y'all who believe Kevin and Whitney together would have been her salvation. I think he would for sure have left his wife for her, but I think Whitney didn't dare to take that step, to become the "homewrecker" that stole a husband. So instead she's pretending like Bobby is better, like she "chose" him (you can really see how strained that looks in the interview). She didn't choose him - she chickened out, and that lead to the tragic, almost unimaginable fate that became her life and death. i think Bobby brown was basically the devil that came and destroyed everything good in Whitney - her beauty, her charisma, her incredible voice and even her only daughter. Sometimes life really sucks. The lesson here is: THINK before you choose your life mate. That choice will matter.

I couldn't agree more with your scathing rebuke of Bobby Brown. I did not like the man and yes, he DID destroy Whitney internally and externally. However, I must say this, no man, I repeat no man can destroy a woman by his abuse and ill treatment of her if that woman has a strong sense of self. Any human being in possession of their own soul will not die emotionally psychologically or physically if they know who they are. Unfortunately, Whitney like a lot of people in the entertainment Industry have a lot of insecurities and a vulnerability that sometimes can be their demise. I was so saddened to hear about Whitney's death she was so beautiful and so so talented. I saw her in an interview months before her death and I was shocked at her appearance and her manner. It was clear to me then that this sweet, gorgeous girls' spirit had already died. My first thoughts went straight to the deadbeat she had been married to, as the cause of her state, at that time. I don't think Whitney ever really knew how great she was. If only she had truly believed that about herself. She would have kicked Brown's ass to the curb a long time ago and we would still have Whitney today. Whiteny.......... I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU. Thank you for the comment you made here on KZbin you were right on the mark about that "devil" as you put it .

If both Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston would’ve been single at the time The Bodyguard was made they would’ve gone on to have a relationship and would’ve gotten married and she’d still be alive and married to him is my guess. And she wouldn’t of got sucked into all that drug crap of Bobby Brown. Bobby Brown was the worst thing that ever happened to Whitney Houston and the only good thing she got out of that marriage was her daughter and Bobby Brown screwed up their daughter as well.

I am pretty sure that Whitney was like any young girl, with a young thirsty soul for adventure and endless possibilities like we have these days too. You know... bad boys, "interesting" life, cheap romance and no self esteem. The type that believed that if he was jealous that meant he loved her. Kevin Costner was the opposite of what she liked in a man. He was a gentleman, gentle and protective, without any intention of denigrating any woman. I think they were very well matched and he saw that very well, but she was much too "young" at heart and mind to be really ready for this type of relationship. That usually happens, no? The nice guy who gets friend zoned while she makes the wrong choice, and then she learns to appreciate him in fact? At the same time she was mature enough to try not to allow pricks to get too much into cheap subjects like rhis idiot asked. Most of us never knew her or him, but we can all find ourselves in one or the other. I always find myself in Costner. That patience and support he has, it's all me in a relationship. And Whitney was my first love too in a way. Music wise 😂 I remember I cried when she died and then I was angry and then I understood where she came from and how wolves were just waiting in corners to take a little more piece out of her once she died. Of course she ended up like that.

I believe she was not indifferent to Kevin, the way she talked about him is describing his soul, the way she talked about her "husband" is just sexual referring to his "big" lips it sounds more as infatuation mix with her doubts.

She did a couple of other movies but she was never as good as she was with Costner. I don't say this from a romantic, 'I want them to be together' mentality. She was more natural with him. That makes sense because he took her under his wing, so to speak. Promised her she wouldn't fail and that she would look good onscreen. And she did. Not an actress like Davis or Bassett. But their chemistry was evident onscreen. JMO

Whitney is the tough one to work out, like you said shes good at hiding stuff and not letting truth come out, but just that way she quickly described kevin was like.. ha? he sounds like more than a co-worker! ...but could be also Whitney just being very appreciative and nice about it. I guess it will never known unless KC decides one day fuck it, but i think he's too classy for that and it'd likely be part of his and whitney's thing about being careful what is said about eachother....."sometimes things are just yours" LET IT OUT KC!
