Naming the cuts as you do them has helped me finally understand what they mean and their purpose. Thank you

You have excellent technique and a very good eye for detail. You are also a very good teacher. Your work is really great! You must also have good sharpening technique. Thanks!

Thank you so much for the kind words. What comes to sharpening I actually do less than most people. I only have a kitchen knife sharpener and nothing else, but with a thin blande it has worked well enough.

How do you sharpen your whittling knives so effectively?
@TheMakerExperience3 ай бұрын
I just use a normal kitchen knife sharpener. However, it would be good to get some honing equipment at some point too.

@@TheMakerExperience what do you mean by a normal kitchen sharpener? like a carbide pull through sharper or a kitchen knife steel? or perhaps something else? thanks for your time.

I havel used curly willow which seems SOFTER than basswood. We had to cut the tree limbs an i am delighted that it is lightweight AND SOFT.

Good to know. So far I've mostly used goat willow and European aspen, which are decent too.
