Hello Polish World! Today I am showing you how I whittle down my PPU wishlist! I firmly believe in supporting our Indie polish makers, but we all know we can’t buy all the polish! Unless you’re a zillionaire and have the space for them! So in this video I show you some combos that get close to a few of the offerings as well as single polishes I have in my collection that are very similar. I loved your story about Echoes rescue. I can’t imagine her relief when she realized it was you! I’ve got my PPU list whittled down to five. I’m not sure if it will get smaller. It needs to……😂. Thanks for taking the time to try to dupe these polishes. You do an amazing job.

That is the sweetest story of how Eko was lost and then found, kind of a miracle and a God Wink kind of thing! Also, the fierce love of a mama bear who also loves animals cannot be denied, we get things done!!😂 You did so good with these dupes, that Deeamland looks so spot on. The EDM reminds me of Esperance by PFD’s which I think we twinned with many moons ago!!😁

The Mama bear thing is real! My heart was crushed for Dom. Plus I’m a “fixer” by nature (probably why I’m a speech therapist!)… I need everything to be okay! 😂. I thought of Esperance for the EDM but I thought it was more cornflower? It’s so hard to tell in swatch pics, especially if they use flash, it completely distorts the color. I think I can go without this EDM this time. 💪🏻😆

You’re welcome! I’m always on the fence with how much I should share with duping polishes. I know many makers do this as their sole income and I want to support them! But then we also have to be realistic. I sway back and forth, 😂. The nice thing about PPU is there is always something for everyone!

I know you told me you are thinking of making this vid. but dang, wish I knew you had this up on your channel yesterday! You did an amazing job!!!!! Most of your dupes came in so very close! Bravo! As for Echo's story! That was incredible. She is one lucky bird. If it wasn't for your determination who knows how this story would have ended! For a fun story of mine...about 4 years ago kids were playing outside, it was November maybe, so cold...one of the kids started to scream, I see a bird, it has so many colors....! So the kids (including my own) started to chase the bird. I go outside to see what the fuss is about and what do I see.... a parrot! I go to the garage and take big fish net on a long stick, pin the bird to the window and boom! I can't remember what type it was but it was on a medium side! We kept her for over a week while waiting on the owner to reach out (had signs all over the place). Our friend has a pet store in the area so she put her pictures up in all of the possible social media etc. Nothing! We could not keep her (never had birds and our dog wanted to eat her), so we put her up for adoptions in our friends store. She was adopted fast by a nice family with great bird experience...Anyway remind me.... I can show you some photos of her. She loved singing and dancing to the music, but she was loud and would "attack" your ears if on your shoulder lol

Wow!! Just wow!! I would LOVE to have a parrot. They go for like $1000, even older ones being adopted! My dream would be to have one just like”show up” at my house. Thanks for the video compliments! I had fun trying to dupe these polishes! 😊

Thank you for sharing Eqo‘s story, what an adventure for the little lady. And I love this approach to try to get those PPU polishes that really fill the gaps in our collections. I usually have my wishlist next to me and then I have a look at my untrieds. If I have 4-5 untrieds of a particular shade and finish, I take it off the wishlist. And any recreations should get achieved in three coats of polish. I am pretty sure I will get KBShimmer, GLL, Cuticula, Sassy Sauce (I collect those), Dreamland and DRK

Oh that’s a great way to do it! I think it also tells you what you really enjoy wearing. If you have a bunch of untrieds in the same family, maybe you’re just not reaching for them because you don’t love that color family as much as you think you do! 🤔

I love the Echo story! I’m so glad it had a happy ending! 💓 I need to start doing this gain, I did it once and then never again, because lazy. 😅 but my collection is getting insane again. I did purchase two more helmers. So… that will help! 😆

A recent "fortune" I found in a cookie: "You can't have everything...where would you put it all?" I cannot express just much this lil' nugget resonated with me!! I now have it taped to my laptop so that it's always within sight to remind me just how dangerous FOMO & impulsivity can truly be. Besides, I'm learning how pleasurable it is to "shop" my own collection. I'm really having a blast going through and looking for combos/dupes that I hadn't noticed before, and then using everything to create a new polish or mani that I sometimes like even better than its individual components!! (But, specifically, your video sent me down the rabbit hole on that Dreamland polish [The Sea Haunt]! I didn't have either of the polishes you used, but I do have Morning Dew & Ripple Effect [Orly], as well as several others which I tried in so many combinations that I ultimately lost count! In the end, I couldn't quite hit the right saturation & hue that the swatch photos show, so I'm pretty confident that one is going in my cart. At least I know I tried & shouldn't experience buyer's remorse when I finally get it in my grubby lil hands!)

That’s just it! If we “shop” our collection and can’t come up with anything similar, then there should be zero buyer’s remorse. Plus, it’s fun spending time making combos and perusing through drawers of polish! 😊

Thanks, Julie! It was time consuming but also enjoyable! I mean, it’s polish, what’s not to love, right? Glad you’ve saved money! I have skipped the last few months of PPU so I think I’m ready to purchase a couple. I try to keep it down to two polishes though. Some days I’m completely overwhelmed by my collection. 😂

I had atomic on my list but ultimately found I could dupe it close enough to skip it....I can't come close to the others though, so I will be shopping, just a little 😂 I'm getting Dam, Sweet & Sour (I have something similar from cuticula (never sleep again) but the SS one is just too pretty to skip...then I had to add the GLL polish, it's absolutely gorgeous ❤ I blame a few KZbinrs for that one being added 😅😂

oh YIP YIP is on my list even though I have several similar without the GITD aspect. Zombie Claw's Prettiest Girl at the Party & Emily de Molly Dragonet. And I do have some Night Owl GITD that I could add (it just wouldn't be orange). Ohh I have It is my Punishment, so I can happily skip the GLL. I have a previous Sassy Sauce called Love Out Loud that has some of the flakes and the blue shimmer, so if I add some topper with holo and some extra flakies I could get closer. The solar Chameleon is the other on my wish list, not sure if I have a similar thermal but I'm gonna look as I think I might have a pair from MJ Lacquer that go from purple to green/blue instead of green to purple (thermal).

Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate feedback, for sure. Is it just this particular music or music in general in videos? Or just the music I choose? The editing app I use has different genres and I tend to pick “children’s music” due to its simplicity (and because I tend to like ‘cutesy’ things! 😂) but it’s not for everyone. We had a discussion in our nail KZbinr group chat about background music and it was pretty much 50/50 for in favor/against. I try to keep it low volume, but admittedly I have hearing loss (medication induced hearing loss years ago) so I have to be careful with volume on things others will be listening to!
