So I've been listening to these guys weekly since 2016 and I found out a few years ago that they post their podcasts on KZbin but never have thought about looking it up when I got home until today. Just like meeting the DJ from your radio station for the first time, it was a very odd experience despite their likenesses being part of their artwork for quite a while plus to hear their voices outside my car.
@normalgraham11 ай бұрын
Same experience here. I actually like not knowing what people look like for whatever reason, helps me focus on their personality. So it's always funny to see the lips match the voice. I remember seeing Harry Shearer do the Mr Burns voice and feeling like I was watching a magic trick. Similarly, I used to enjoy Game Grumps but once I saw Erin and Danny talking on camera I just kind of quietly unsubscribed with a frown on my face.

My hottake is that they'd never kill characters that are easy to replace. So, Chewie is safe because they can just put a tall Finlander in that suit.

It's so weird putting faces to the voices. None of them sound like men with mustaches.

Kinda side with Cabin. I hated it. Not that there wasn’t anything to like, but so much of the story and character development and twists were soooo cheap. And the pacing and editing was erratic. It didn’t feel like much mattered. What a way to end the trilogy.

I think I had the opposite experience to most of you guys, in that I liked it more the first time around because "hey, I'm watching a Star Wars movie!" and then on the second time I was just furious most of the runtime. But Eric you keep Babu Frik's name out of your mouth goddamoot!

I cannot imagine how anyone looked at that transport blowing up and believed for even a single second that it was a sincere character death moment. Crabin ain't no detective, it was more obvious than the sun they weren't blowing up that merchandise. Definitely not in a car accident.

"Backing the wrong horse" with Carrie Fisher always seemed an especially odd decision to me as she died months before The Last Jedi came out, plenty of time to undo the decision to kill off Luke. Having him still alive for the third movie could have made a huge difference.
@alltheorynopractice54674 жыл бұрын
In movie terms (especially something as VFX-heavy as Star Wars), it wasn't NEARLY enough time. She died long after principle photography was over, so the better choice would just be to have her character already dead when IX came out.
@megatron13844 жыл бұрын
MahMahAfro3000 I don’t believe that is correct. She died like 2 days after LTLJ came out I think?
@DREWSTAV4 жыл бұрын
megatron1384 She died almost twelve months before TLJ
@versena4 жыл бұрын
@@megatron1384 She died a year before it came out, and shortly after Rogue One was released, on 27th December 2016. But they'd already completed filming because TLJ was initially meant to be released in May 2017 but when TFA did so well in December they moved TLJ to December as well but kept the same shooting schedule.
@versena4 жыл бұрын
@@alltheorynopractice5467 Agreed. Plus it would be awful to cut Carrie Fisher's last full performance imo. But it's not like they'd have ever done it, you can't just cut some scenes and tweak things, her character was an important part of Poe's story arc so that would've needed to have been completely overhauled. I think her being dead at the beginning of IX would've been the best as well, not having to work around all that awkward dialogue and forcing that plot into the movie could've only helped. It feels like it was hamstrung by needing to include her in ways they could only use what they had already.

As many problems as this had, it was SO much easier to watch than the Irishman. It was almost the opposite. Rise of Skywalker had too much crammed into it, while the Irishman was just three and a half hours of unnecessary scenes of people talking about nothing, for no reason. Probably the most self-indulgent film I've ever barely sat through.
