It's near impossible to pick favourites from the smorgasbord of Automotive channels on KZbin but I'd like to add Jay Leno, Mat Watson at Carwow and Henry Catchpole at Hagerty to your excellent list as being both inspirational and highly watchable channels too. I think it's the sheer variety of channels from around the globe that's so great about KZbin and the fact you can watch them whenever you want on all sorts of devices. Long may it continue.

I would give a special mention to John Davis and Motorweek. This show started the trend of regular televised automotive shows in 1981 and it’s still going strong today, still hosted by John Davis who is 76 years old. Granted, Motorweek has used the same muted format which is decidedly “campy” in today’s modern age but make no mistake. EVERY automotive youtuber owes him a debt of gratitude for the trail he set in this industry. He’s not the flashiest guy and he doesn’t display a lot of emotion but you know exactly where he stands and gives you a perspective about cars that’s cut and dry - no more, no less. LIve long John and never change!

Seems to me Harry is the very definition of a Gentleman. Mature but not boring. Classy but not uptight. Conducting himself with grace, charm and manners in the best possible way. A lot of people like to rebel against those kinds of qualities because the misunderstand what they represent. Sometimes it's because there are people on that level who are not genuine and give it a bad name, but often it's just from their own ignorance. Harry shows why those things are important precisely because he is genuine.

The bad audio of 1980s motorweek and sitting on the carpet too close to the tv is the a great memory of my youth. Car role, brake test, long term road test results, a garage tip, and a piece of industry news is something one of these youtubers should replicate for a show in tribute - complete with some bad audio 😂.

Love Harry Metcalfe. I live in Ireland, specifically in Donegal. Last year Harry uploaded a video of him driving around where I live in an old Jaguar of his, he was doing a tour of Ireland. He drove on a very fun piece of road less than an hour from me called the Glengesh Pass, a road I always wanted to drive. The following week on a beautiful day I drove the Pass in my GT86, huge fun. Just gutted I didn’t meet Harry when he was in my town.
