They don't have any attachment to any physical things or beings, their main focus is on spirituality. But due to their extreme practices, people fear them. What makes them unique is their ability to stay focused even under extreme situations, be it a hot desert, a snow mountain, extreme rain, lack of food and water, or even a war situation.

let me sum up Aghori quickly for you: They eat flesh of the dead body. they never hurt or even intend to hurt a live human. The whole point is living a life with no needs no greed no jealousy no agony no excitement etc. living a life like a zero. "shunya". they eat whatever they find(sometimes sand too)they drink whatever they find(even urine)smoke weed and meditate for days months years (many births, in some cases). They follow Lord Shiva to become one with the ultimate God. "the "paramatma". and attain moksha, (end of cycle of being born and then dying at the end). fun facts: they eat and drink using human skull as a bowl. they don't wear anything even at extreme cold temperatures (still they don't get sick) they try to sleep at cremation places because it's quiet and alone there and they can meditate in peace. the ash is actually is the remains of cremation.

They r not real aghories..They r just people who failed to become an aghori and now begging here and there..In reality aghories never ever comes in front of normal humans and lives their entire lives in caves in meditation to attain moksha.. As per my knowledge Aghoris are extremely spiritual people who doesn't have any attachments with this materialistic world.. I've seen some aghoris living for 100 years without even having a glass of water.. aghoris do 'Hata yoga' by which they can cut their own body into 9 pieces(navakhanda yoga) and then attach it by themselves.. some aghoris are capable of taking out their small intestine wash it and then put it back to its place in their bodies.. I know it's hard to believe but aghoris don't even want us to believe them because as I said earlier they will be totally lost in their own world sometimes without even caring about their own bodies..!!!

Aghoris are mostly misunderstood. Because of the apparent cannibalism. But its just like this. Whatever the society rejects, the Aghori tend to accept this. This is the image of Shiva. He also accepts everything that the world rejects. They often eat human waste drink urine. Its an extreme way of doing things. Yet if you come to Varanasi you will see a different Aura amongst these sadhus.

In india most people are taken to a cremation ground and cremated. Alot of that happens in varanasi because people believe that it is a holy place. The aghoris are known as "untouchable". Common people dont cross to their side. Having lived in India for a few years most people know of the aghoris but not many know much about them. me included. I've met sadhuguru. hes a really chill dude.

Great observation Rick..saif is really buffed and Aghoris are slender and appear weak.. but we really don't know if they are weak as they appear.You guys should see more of Sadhguru's videos (the white bearded guy in the interview video) ..he is a spiritual guru ..devotee of Shiva and a great speaker.

In Hinduism there are several ways by which one can attain moksha which even includes being an atheist but following the principle of karma. Being Aghori is believed to be one of the ways. Right or wrong is very subjective and depends on individual. People from all across the world including USA visit India to find answers to the question raised by Rick.
