We have them in Yemen too but most of them today just say they are Turkic Ottomans. The reason why I know is because my great grandma (a centurion) said that the soldiers stationed in our city were Sharkas which is the Arabic word for Circassian

Also I want to, not correct, but rather give more insight on something. Circassians boys were wanted because of their warlike culture and not because they were thought of as disposable. Also, the mothers of many of the emperors and sultans were Circassian

I have always wondered why there are no people of Circassian origin in Lebanon, yet they are in surrounding countries like Syria, Jordan, Egypt, and Palestine. Though in Lebanon there are Kurds, Turks, Turkmen, and Armenians, just no Circassians.
