Very interesting. You seem to speak from the heart. I like Alisa too. Maybe you two can have a discussion with each other.

Gresham Machen said that liberal Christianity was another religion, so Alisa is consistent with reformed theology. I agree there is a spectrum of progressive ideas. Fr. Ed Trevors (KZbin) is wise when he said we can find good things in other faiths. In Machen's day racial segregation was the norm which James Baldwin said was the central hypocrisy in white Christianity. Baldwin was correct.

Mina, it seems like the central thrust of your apologetic here is to dismiss Alisa’s concerns by arguing that there is no ‘Historic Christianity.’ Do you really think this is the best way to respond to her? She’s saying progressives don’t believe in or care about ‘historic Christianity,’ and by denying there is any such thing, it seems like you’re more or less giving her the win. How do you think her viewers who share her concerns would react to that? Btw, I don’t mind the lipstick. I hope you’ll see this and think about it. Thanks.

I really don't understand how is it that by denying Historic Christianity I give her the win 🤔 If there is not one Historic Christianity, it means that there is much more space for different opinions about Christian matters. I don't honestly mind too much about her viewers, I just try to give my opinions...

@@yaelsahov It’s simple: you’re denying the Faith. If you don’t believe that your religious tenets are drawn from the teachings of Jesus - which were given in 1st century Palestine and not 21st century America - then you are not Christian. This isn’t up for debate; all of the counter examples of various heretical and heterodox branches of Christianity you mention in the video would claim that they were part of a ‘historic’ faith. It is an inescapable prerequisite of being Christian. She questions your commitment to the faith -> you deny it-> she’s right. There are times when ‘walking into the fire’ works but this is just not one of those times.

Alisa seems kind of the typical small minded Christian to me
