Yeah in the original TMNT comics April O'Neil wasn't a reporter but was at first Baxter Stockman's lab assistant then she found out her boss was using the robots they made to steel stuff and demolish buildings, then April was about to call the cops and tell them what she found out but Baxter sicked the robots on her, the Turtles bumped into her and saved her from the robots and you can guess the rest from here

So the TMNT comic written back in 1984 was a parody of Daredevil. Eastman and Weise are huge marvel fans. The backstory is the Ooze that blinded Matt Murdock mutated four pet store turtles and a Ninja master into a rat. The master's name is Hamato Yoshi now called Splinter (A JOKE on Daredevil's mentor Stick.) Who trains his four anthropomorphic turtle ninja sons/students to fight the evil forces of the Foot clan. (another JOKE on Daredevil, who's ninja bad guys are called The Hand). Batman The TMNT have had numerus crossovers to other comic books heroes and villains from other franchises too. IDW the guys that did Batman vs. TMNT also had them team up with the Ghostbusters (whom also had a comic series run for IDW). Crossovers between franchises happen all the frickin time. Spider-Man tried to Join the JLA. He even had a fight with Superman once in one of the best drawn fights ever put to ink. So I ask you, Why are you reacting to NC videos? Is it cause you wish to avoid KZbin problems? in which case don't do a video and see for yourself you can even report back to us what you think. But don't go basing your opinion on any of this: Comics, movies, cartoons, ect. and the thoughts from creators with literally decades of experience and hundreds of thousands of hours of watch time. With deep foundations to influence their taste. Just because the Critic makes a video does not make it bad. In-fact, the last five years or so he does the good and the bad. And you have no experience of either. Please at least tell us you are going to make a conscious effort to experience something for yourself that isn't based on someone else's opinion.

For the whole review-wide joke about fanfiction, it's basically one big jab at the Star Wars sequel trilogy. -Devil Boner's submission was a jab at _The Force Awakens_ because it was, while a competent film, mostly just a rehash of _A New Hope._ -Benny's Submission was a jab at _The Last Jedi_ because the director was changed from JJ Abrams like the last film to Rian Johnson who basically ended EVERY plot point Abrams left open in the last film. -And finally, Critic's submission is a jab at _Rise of Skywalker._ After the last film understandably flopped, JJ Abrams was called back in to direct the final film in the trilogy. And with basically every avenue from the last film closed off, he had to basically pull shit out of nowhere to fill up the final runtime. -The time travel joke is that the fanfic was sent back in time to the hands of Kathleen Kennedy, who is in charge of the Star Wars franchise after George Lucas sold it to Disney, who would end up using it as the blueprints for the sequel trilogy.

Wouldn't say the Last Jedi was a flop. Sure, it's not liked by most Star Wars (myself included), but it still grossed over a billion dollars at the box office. Sure it made less then the previous film, but with a budget of around 300 million and a break even goal of 800 million, it more than made its money back. Now regarding Rise of Skywalker, originally Colin Trevorrow was set to direct as a means to get distinct vision for each film (which is dumb considering it makes for a sloppily told trilogy), but he and the producers had a falling out and thus was fired. His script and plot were vastly different from what Abbrams did and I'd say it was... marginally better. Considering what we did get, that's really not saying much.

So for a bit of context on why this crossover actually does make sense, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles originally started out as a parody of Frank Miller's Daredevil comics. Splinter was a parody of Stick (Daredevil's mentor). The Foot was a parody of The Hand (A ninja clan in the Marvel Universe). April O'Neil was kinda based sorta on Karen Paige. It was all a parody of Miller's Daredevil run. Frank Miller also notably created a reinvention of Batman in the mid-80s with The Dark Knight Returns and Year One. He's often credited with the turn of Batman comics to darker, more gritty tones and subject matters (Though I will argue to the death that Denny O'Neil and Neal Adams are actually the rightful owners of that claim). So the combination of Frank Miller character with Frank Miller parody is actually kind of brilliant.

Kathleen Kennedy is the boss of Lucasfilm and probably the brain behind the new Indiana Jones movie. There was a leak that they wanted to write Indiana Jones vie time travel out of his own franchise and replace him with a new female character, which would have had all his adventures. Then they delayed the movie for a year for reshoots. As for Batman vs. Turtles? Great fun with great action and a lot of easter eggs you don't need to know, but appreciate and enjoy if you know them.

No they didn't make a sequel. But DC animated movies are actually really good on the whole. They're largely continuous and seems to be more for adults than thier cinematic releases. It's actually something Nostalgia Critic made fun of in a video, I forget which one, where Marvel and DC come to the agreement that Marvel will make good MCU movies but thier animated works tend to be very meh in quality, while DC's animated works are often praised for being just as having depth and are made for adults as much as kids; Hell, a few got a R rating, while thier cinematic universe movies get mixed responses for the most part.

Yeah, this movie is legitimately great, I love it a lot ^^ I'm personally more into/familiar with TMNT than Batman, having at least watched three TMNT shows (2k12, 2k3 and Rise) whereas my knowledge of Batman's just bits and pieces picked up here and there over the years without ever watching a full series or reading a full comic issue or anything like that (though I am getting more into DC and Batman specifically lately thanks to- fittingly- some crossover fanfics ((not TMNT crossovers though, Danny Phantom crossovers, pff)) so I might end up checking out one or two Batman shows)

As much as I have problems with this movie, it is my absolute favorite in terms of pure fun. I've loved Ninja Turtles since I was a child and Batman is just always cool (sort of, depends).
