Robyn Crawford was the only loyal person to Whitney. None of this is hot tea to me, cuz my ass was a nosy obsessed preteen that watch any and everything on New Edition back in the day. There's more to the Janet's story that gets embellished every time it's brought up. Whitney was a young mistress to Jermaine, who later had a here and there with Michael (she also dated Eddie for a hot sec, but Eddie only dates women with a cool head-someone who will play the docile part). Janet also dated Johnny Gill. Bobby was dating Juanita before and during the whole courting Whitney bit. Bobby's ego, attitude, and behavior was all rock star, but it also flawed his career. Cocaine is a powerful drug. Love NE, Love Whitney, Love Janet, Love Bobby...but there's his side, her side, and the truth. I've been paying attention for 20+ years, so......

@dawnpratt8464 жыл бұрын
I believe that to be true !!
@Keepdapocket4 жыл бұрын
Disagree. Im the late 80's/early 90's, I used to hang out in Jersey. While America was thinking of Whitney as Miss America, people knew Whitney was hood as anyone. While I agree she enjoyed that freedom with Bobby, it was more than that. She allowed herself to be more free because she was established and could do so. Its like that for anyone black person. You have to play the game to establish yourself, and once you're established you can be the real you. Thats what Whitney did. It would have happened regardless of Bobby. The only artists/actors who get a pass for being black and themselves are rap artists. Everyone else, entertainment or otherwise, has to play the game first to establish yourself. Whitney truly loved Bobby. Lets not forget she could have had any dude. She dated Eddie Murphy and Randall Cunningham before Bobby. Eddie warned Bobby to stay clear because Whitney was wild. Randal confirmed Whitney wasn't for him because of, as he said, "her partying ways". Whitney. Bobby was her scapegoat for White America, but not black America. Especially, in the Jersey area. We knew the deal with Whitney well before Bobby was even close to being a factor.
@CleanMusicLover2293 жыл бұрын
@@Keepdapocket Eddie warned Bobby about her smoking too much. And she would have married Eddie if he proposed. Eddie was her main and Bobby was the backup. It seems like Bobby told Eddie about the night of the Soul Train Awards and that turned Eddie off.

@@CleanMusicLover229 i believe i said that already in my second paragraph. As stated Randall Cunningham said be couldn't date her anymore because she was a "party girl". As in the 80's the term "parry" meant drugs, not dancing and drinking. The men Whitney dated before she was with Bobby all knew how she got down with that Yay! It was only a secret to the general white people, not the brutbas and sistas!.

We have to remember that Bobby, in part 1, was only 20-23ish. He was a guy who had money, fame, fortune & he was fly. When he said “it’s my prerogative, I can do what I wanna do”, he meant that. I’m sure he felt invincible. The decisions he made came from that mentally.

They nailed the meeting of Bobby and Whitney at the Soul Train Awards. Cancels out Lifetime's version miserably.

Was Bobby getting picked on for being dark?😢😢
@bettymillz31786 жыл бұрын
A C He was. On his book he stated that even in new edition they used to make fun of his skin color, especially Ricky. Then he said he didn’t understand why Ricky was talking since they have the same complexion.
@duwainewalker52706 жыл бұрын
I just do not buy the dark argument, Janet just got away from Bad Boy James DeBarge and she married him without her dad's permission, and we know if a woman falls in love with you she will forsake her parents and follow you to the end of the Earth. What is obvious here is that Janet and indulgenced with a bad boy but she Limited her interactions, however, Bobby Brown fell in and she use her dad as an excuse to set the parameters of their interactions. Do you really think she wanted to be with him knowing who he was and what he stood for. This is like jumping back into the frying pan. After a divorce most people just want to have some fun for quite some time.

I enjoyed the movie. He put some people through alot of his shit. I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. He tried 👏 . All the actors and actresses did a great job. As we can see he's had a wreckless life by his own doing. The sex he's had wow was too much with alot of women with the outcome of some children being produced. The scene with Janet was intense and the 👻 Buster's trailer scene was wild. I enjoyed ALL the music it was on point. I can't wait to see the next part.

Denise Morant He went through so much. In the process he lost everything. God gave it back to him. We all have to go through obstacles, fail and come back strong. I have always loved New Edition they are a very strong group and very supportive of one another
@FlyiDCG5 жыл бұрын
Yea but Kim was his girlfriend. I think he viewed Malika as groupie, but she wasn't. On the extended version of Mr Telephone there is a skit when Bobby is trying to call Kim and she doesnt pick up. Also Ralph and Bobby hosted a Video Vibrations show on BET together and Bobby shots out both Kim & Shelly (Zena) during the show. We even see Kim was with Bobby during the Heartbreak Tour 88-89 & they have 2 children.

Naw, I wouldn't say its killing the N.E movie, not by a long shot,I loved how wit N.E it was about more than ONE guy , so that meant it was MORE situations to see & learn about & we had sumthin to look forward to for 3 Nights,LOL..Bobby Is Cool/Great, but give me N.E

@@dspeakingdattruth6349 No where near as good as the NE movie. His movie was very predictable. Alcohol, drugs, sex, jail and thugging.
@bluewave34176 жыл бұрын
Lady J Smooth, I agree. Even though its only been one part so far. I liked the New Edition movie more. More music. More diverse story lines and characters. Childhood friends become family then become stars. Then they fall apart and find a way back together again. Bobby's movie is good too. But its basically sex, drugs, baby mommas, and hood adventures. I hope part II is better.

I can see Janet banging it out with him. They were young. Don't hold it against Janet. We all know what we have done. The people of today tell it all years ago people kept it to themselves. Bobbie is honest dude and Janet not saying nothing about nuffin. That how she was raised look at all them kids her mom had yet she was very much private and married.
