One thought I've had, the more i rewatch AT, is that PB would probably have become a real tyrant if she hadn't met Finn. I think his good nature and bonhomie subconsciously influenced her to be a better friend and ruler, even if she still has control issues. Plus he helped get her and Marcy to start being friends again, which I think also helped PB stay sane in the long run. Pep But was right to worry about her spending too much time in the lab.

100 percent accurate. It took me a long time to understand why she played nice with Finn and Jake, pretending to be a young sweet innocent candy lady with them for the early part of their lives. But I ultimately concluded that it was several factors that she considered. 1. Finn is the first human seen in Ooo in roughly a thousand years, so, he is essentially an endangered species and worth preserving and studying. 2. Both Finn and Jake are omnivores, meaning they will eat anything, posing an immediate threat to the Candy Kingdom. Jake especially with his magic power has the potential to consume the entire kingdom in a single bite if he ever decided to, so convincing the boys that they want to protect the Kingdom (rather than eat it) is the smartest move for PB, also the reason she made Meatman for them. Because omnivores can't survive on candy alone, they need to eat meat however PB can't let them just eat the local animals as that would violate peace treaties between Candy Kingdom and the Forest Wizards. 3. Lying to Finn and Jake about the origins and innocence of the Candy Kingdom was the easiest way to ensure their loyality and motivation in protecting it. It's just amazing that pretending to be nice and good to manipulate the boys, actually led to her learning how to be genuinely nicer and better morally

​@HeadCasey I just finished watching "Rattleballs" and I think that's the first time we really start to see changes in her character, especially as we start to learn more about her past. And I don't really think she's being hypocritical when she talks about respecting people's differences in the Neddy episode, that's her having learned to be a better person (especially after the Lemongrab saga). And knowing a lot of her control issues stem from trying to protect her brother helps too, there's almost like a Munchausen by proxy thing going on.

That's all fair enough and I don't want to ruin PB for anyone, I know she is a fan favourite... However I don't accept the "she suddenly learned to be good" excuse because she clearly knew right from wrong as a child, then did bad things for like 800 years then suddenly learned "right from wrong" again? Bogus. She is a huge hypocrite for saying that because at the time that she says it, she has already created and meddled with more lifeforms than we can count. And she didn't stop meddling when she said that either, timeline-wise she continued to mess with LemonHope long after her Neddy monologue.

Thats a good way to look at at, although I'm not sure she always did things in the best possible way. The entire Lemon Kingdom situation kinda got away from her 😅 Her opening idea was fine, Matthew was a problem/threat because as he says "I keep adding to myself until the second age of terror, when I will emerge in my final form and restore the world." so Bubblegum needed a plan to prevent that: Simple. Make a lemon guy with sour essence that can destroy Matthew, leave the lemon with instructions on what to do, wait for the lemon to go do its one real job and kill Matthew... Perfect plan, almost. When Lemongrab got loenly it makes sense to just make him an identical clone. Then they won't be lonely anymore and as long as one of them still goes and kills Matthew then its worth it, afterall stopping the second age of terror sounds pretty important... Then the lemons began starving to death, they can't beat Matthew if they are dead so PB is now forced to try feed them. They turn the food into lemons 😂 Sometime around here is when PB must really be asking herself if this "Make a lemon guy to go kill a floating head" plan is worth the trouble 🤣

I feel like when people are talking about PB’s morality they forget that she was just born, she didn’t have any parents, or family besides Neddy who she had to protect, she had no one she could base her moral compass on and by the end of the show she’s become a much better person.

Oh, I showed everyone her story from birth to main-timeline but I think your claim that she is "much better" by the end is a big stretch. I saw her behaviour in the Finale, and in Distant Lands, and I know what she did after the show ended... So nah. I don't buy it. She is still real nasty. Basically everyone she ever dungeoned is still locked up too. Also she was born with a preinstalled moral compass and knowledge of science from the Mother Gum. That's why she was able to create a candy family when she was still just a child, a child who already knew "right from wrong" but then choose to do "the wrong thing" for the next 800 years before suddenly learning some morals again, but only a little bit of morals 🤦‍♀️

Also the fact that she learned how to communicate via German books at first, so i wouldnt be surprised if a lot of her views on leadership were based on books written by Nazi's, especially if the Mushroom War actually happened around WW2 like a lot of people believe, cuz then it basically confirms that the books she first read likely didnt have great moral outlooks, explaining a lot of what she does as Princess, like the mass survielence, the control she has over every candy citizen and the tyranny of her rule, like she literally rage quit when she was forced to have an actual election to keep her position of power and threw everyone who didnt agree with her in jail, which is very dictator-like

The coolest realization I had as a kid after watching a lot of Adventure Time episodes is that every character in the show aside from the humans are any of the following: -Descendants of the mutants from the Mushroom war -Aliens -Demons *This is why in the farm world, we can see some of the mutants have their non-mutant counterparts such as Jake, Billy and Goose.

Great comment, you are right that a large part of Ooo is made from Aliens, Demons and Mutants, but then you still have regular animals too, and of course all of PBs different food kingdoms, all the robots, and goblins too 🤔 Also you are right about Farmworld Jake and Choose Goose. But you are very very wrong about Billy and Bobby. I will be covering them in depth in a later theory, so don't panic, but anyone who thinks Billy/Bobby are mutants (or humans) are flat out wrong. Whatever Billy/Bobby actually is (it's something real specific) their lifespan is roughly 500+ years. Billy beats Lich into PBs tree shortly after the Shoko timeline, but long looooong before the Finn timeline. Approximately 500 years earlier. This means that Billy existed for the same timeframe in Farmworld but with no Linch to battle (because Farmworld Lich was delayed a thousand years) so no bomb causing the "surge in magic" to the land, no Mutants, no Vamps, no Rainicorns, no Coconteppi and no wizard city. The fact that Bobby existed casually for hundreds of years in "a world/timeline without magic" should be enough to convince you that there is much more mystery here than just "he's a mutant" 😏

I'm extra happy to hear that. Giving people something new to look for in the show is a large part of why I started these theories. The other two reasons are I want people to re-watch the show this year, to boost ratings and make HBO hurry up with the Fionna, Cake and Simon show. The other reason is because I can't believe no one ever explained what caused the great mushroom war 🤔 so I figured I better break it down for the big final theory, so stay tuned for that

Also, PB(Princess Bublegum) (and his butler, and his friend PB(Pepperment Butler) who partially manages the dark side) not only knew about the lich, but was also the first force to oppose him. I think she knew it was love and gave Finn the sweater in a particularly dramatic way. Finally, she was able to give the lich some trouble even without a crown (she could easily control the bill and the snail, but in PB he could hardly speak and act as if he had a cramp) and then even survived.

@@demirhane9179 ah yes. The Sweater. You are correct she made a big deal about giving him that sweater, and there is 3 key reasons why... 1. Raggedy Princess makes all the real clothes in Ooo, and PB has noted Raggedys fabric skill before with quotes like "Raggedy Princess can make you a new Hambo in ten seconds" but PB specifically made this candy sweater herself rather than just letting Raggedy make a better one... 2. As you (And Maja the Sky Witch) said, Love (Or sentiment) is a powerful type of emotion magic (Lich is weak to emotions) so PB specifically made the sweater with love to give it that extra power... 3. Most importantly... PB made her candy mass recipe to be resistant to radiation. We see as far back as the Shoko timeline that PB has her people all dumping buckets of loose candy into the radioactive river to neutralize it. We also see when James gets "all goopy in the desert" that it only takes the candy mass of about 8-10 normal candy James's to subdue all the radioactive qualities of the 1 original James. So with PB about to send Finn to the Lich's Well of Power... She knew she needed to coat him in some candy to protect him from the loose radiation in the Lich's Pit.

So the mother gum is probably the past candy elemental’s mutated form right? I wonder if this means neddy could access the candy elemental powers as well. PB first came into existence while a part of the hive mind in the mother gum so she’s technically just a fragment of her. I wonder if every potential gum creature can access the elemental powers. That is an amazing thought, I hadn't considered it but you are probably right that PB and her hivemind brethren probably all share the elemental power to some extent... And this would explain why PB took the longest to "master" her powers. Because her power is actually divided amongst her spawn-peers, as where the other elementals are each a single entity. This might also explain why when the Elementals plotline happened, PB was obsessed with assimilating everyone into her hivemind 🤔 like Slime Princess could choose to casually assimilate people into her mass if she wanted, but PB was on full hivemind-rampage mode the entire time... Because at her core that's what she is, a fragment of an old hivemind

Kinda interesting to think about cause that means 2 of the past elementals we saw “survived” but then the slime and fire guys are the ones that properly died.

I don't believe she explained it much at all. I believe she discribed Neddy as "born different" or "had a hard start" because she basically blames his fear of everything on the fact that he was born by falling painfully onto a rock or something. It's almost implied like he was given instant brain damage at birth, but we don't actually have any proof that he would have been any smarter or stronger if he had been born 3 feet to the left and landed safely on the floor like PB did.

I'm actually rewatching AT trying to form a food themed theory. I think that most food has some type of magical connection in adventure time. Jake's perfect sandwich from the gods glowed, the breakfast kingdom are all sweets like the candy element, and any food aside from Hot Dog Kingdom (which is the smallest kingdom) is from fruits or berries. We even see Fin saving Stanley the melon and his family, and later we see PB having a science meeting with Stanley and other fruits which means he's actually alive and thinking rather well Not dissing your theory, I actually really loved the vid! I just wanted to share my own lol

Short and sweet is the crystal apple is a universal link (like the relics explained by booko) and its imbued with the magic of that universe (crystal) and the magic of the Adventure Time universe (candy and sweets), I believe this creates a object twice as powerful as it should be. I think the crystal men did this in hopes of creating a god to follow, that's why when Tree Trunks controls the crystal dimension they basically become her loving harem

We see in the Shoko timeline that PB has created a "Peanut candy" person, then by Finn's timeline the nearest kingdom to the Candy Kingdom happens to be a small nut based kingdom that came out of nowhere. Not to mention plenty of her "intelligent life" didn't have her DNA in it. The gummy fish she made for the butterscotch lake was totally sentient, able to speak and think clearly. The only reason she (on purpose) began making overly dumbed down creations later (literally controlling what data exists in their brains) was because of the threats that overly intelligent peers can cause her.

I don’t think people realize that princess bubblegum is a rick Sanchez level threat, like when she turned into a pure elemental of bubblegum, she was powerful enough to spread her. I guess a DNA or virus over the borders of the other elementals even turning of flame Princess into her minions. She created people same people that toppled and overthrew her. Not really. In her normal form she is the smartest being in her universe, beating out Mo himself. She is capable of creating and destorying life itself (and has done so on several occasions) she can create portals and time travel bubbles. Manipulate basically the entire environment around her. She is near indestructible and immortal. She can adjust her perceived age/appearance as much as she likes. She can survive a full blown possession by the Lich, something that even Billy can not do. And as the OP was saying that in her Candy Elemental Tower form, she is essentially as strong as Unity but arguably stronger as she just needs to use a song to convert others into her Hivemind, and like OP said her Tower Power is strong enough to override nature itself and consume the other elemental forces

Bubble gum created a status quo of controlled chaos by manipulating kingdoms and having controlled opposition that she uses pawns like Finn to manage. But the world breaks free from her control by adding more chaos and unfortunately it comes in the form of the pups. After Charlie's son Gibbon gets inconvenience by a depowerment spell he goes insane and kills turtle princess and uses the power of the ice jewel she had to become immortal and subjugate his family into a empire of destruction that creates the second apocalypse of ooo.

Based on what we actually see in the show it's implied that allowing the humans from the islands into the Candy Kingdom somehow resulted in all the remaining candies fleeing inside a Prizeball Guardian, all the humans dead, and the pups taking control of the ruins of the old candy kingdom. Based on the past lore of the show we can assume it's a foodchain issue where the humans began eating the candies, aaaaand then the Pups (being half Rainicorn) ate the humans 🤷‍♀️ Seems fairly straight forward to me. Please review the island humans arriving by boat in the finale. The wreckage of the human/candy Kingdom seen at the end of Lemonhope pt2. And of course the Pups hanging out inside the Candy Kingdom during the Shermy and Beth intro... The same intro that shows you the 3 second glance at Gibbon still alive and using ice magic, but no real context to his adventure thus far

They confirmed in all the flash forward events that pretty much everything but that last city was dead and it was on its way to becoming a spacefaring galactic dystopia. Beth made it clear in the last episode that The pups were the one in charge of the last city. Charlie's prediction made it clear that Gibbon would do bad things but she would love him anyways they didn't say it explicitly but it's all there. Just tossing in a human's bad maybe they killed everyone and died is kind of a lazy deflection of what they explicitly laid out

Yeah, it does. Canon means it is lore established within in the show, not random things planned for the show that never made it in. Explicitly stating things in the show is what makes them lore. Like it's lore that Rainicorns love the taste of humans, there was already an entire war about that. It's lore that humans-type creatures love the taste of candy, PB has literally had to defend her kingdom from humanoids on several different occasions. Gibbon going on a power stealing rampage of his own species was never something seen in the show, not once, so it's clearly in the non-canon pile for now.

Fionna and Cake Isn’t a carbon copy of the AT universe. It’s just prismo’s interpretation of the universe, so literal connections do not need to be made. For example Fern is also in Fionna World even though the Finn Sword plotline can't/doesn't apply there. Not to mention that the candy person people claim is Boxingday in Fionna World is still shown to have a moustache, but this world is entirely genderbent meaning that Boxingday would be female in this world. A female gum golem (like Aunt Lolly) would become a male in Fionnas World, so it could easily have just been her/him 🤦‍♀️

The lich was right. All life does need to die. Without life, there will be no arguments, no wars, the lich recognized he was the evil of the war, and that all war and arguments must stop. The lich also realized that PB needed to die. The lich is still evil, but he isn’t killing all life for no reason. PB is the real villain of the show

the candies do have skeletons, they show them in a bunch of episodes, best example is Mystery Train in season 2

That episode "Mystery Train" was all done with fake bones. The candies faked their deaths by placing fake bones that looked like them. The Candy's however do not actually have bones, as shown countless times in the show but most notably "Too Young" where very many different candies pull themselves apart to provide additional candy mass to PB to help "age her up to 18 again" and all of the candies there are shown not having bones, you can look right inside them. Also Lemongrab has teeth, sure, but teeth are not actually bones. Many candies have teeth, almost none of the candies have bones (at least PBs pure originals like Cinnamon Bun & Bun-bun, Rootbeer Guy and Cherry Cream Soda, and all the Lemonpeeps certainly don't have bones.)

ill be honest the theory narrative lost me in the middle. it went from "who created/influenced Ooo the most" to "PB is bad and constantly manipulating all of Ooo" and i have a hard time following the connection. If the theory that she made a lot of the life and kingdoms (whether directly or ancestors) is true, i dont see how that relates to her manipulating them. They're all more or less independant entities and kingdoms by the time of the show, if she had a hand in creating them but isnt controlling them anymore and letting them be themselves, thats quite the opposite of "constantly manipulating everything) Idk, i just didn't follow the line of logic of her being a creator of many, practically whole nations' god, to her being an evil manipulative monster

Sounds like you missed the ending where I tie it all together again and draw the connects between her creating life and manipulating everyone else in order to conquer Ooo. The story was who built Ooo. Manipulating, guiding and/or destroying your competition is a key part to that.
