I can relate to what he's saying, I was raised when you better not back talk and if you got in trouble at school you dreaded going home to face your parents, now some parents don't want anyone making their kids mind, then wander why they grow up and have no respect for any authority.
@johnmckown12672 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Especially prevalent about religious instruction. "I'll let them decide for themselves when they're older." But the don't apply that to school, usually. Or how about which language they will learn? "We don't talk around our child. We don't want to force English on them. They can choose and learn their primary language later."

Yep, back in the 70's my Dad was a "clown". Dad thought it was funny when Mama would tell him to whoop us. He would terrorize us by foldin' that belt in half and snappin' it. One night he chased me around the fireplace (our main hallway to the bedrooms went beside and behind the huge brick fireplace in the den) and I ran in between Mama and the coffee table. Dad took a wild swing and missed me, but tore halfway through mama's newspaper that she was reading and knocked her glasses halfway down her face. While they were fussin' and Dad had to fix her broken glasses, they forgot all about my whoopin' after I slunk to my bedroom. That was almost the funniest thing that I ever saw. It was almost as funny as the time a year or two before, my Dad really and truly thought he could do a standing somersault and land on his feet in the den. Yeah, he failed miserably and to a 6yr old, it was damn funny.

My father could reach you in the back seat of 1956 Ford Fairlane 4 door to help you understand that misbehavior would not be tolerated and never swerve an inch! Of course now that is considered abuse! I suppose I had better not say anything about mama and the, "go get me a switch" dilemma! I knew how to do the boo-ga-loo long before anyone knew those moves were going to be put to music!

What's crazy is that median rent is $1465 a month. It was $108 a month in 1970. The median wage could afford rent, gas and groceries on the same percentage of their income that it costs just for rent today.

I have a 49 year old Ford pick up. I've had it almost 15 years, I paid a fraction of what a new truck costs and it does pretty much all the same things. This new generation is a bunch of morons.
@brendafife32532 жыл бұрын
We could fix this country if we all just quit willingly going into debt to buy things.
@tncountryboy06 Жыл бұрын
That’s literally impossible. 99% of the country NEEDS things that they simply can’t afford to pay for in cash. Just yesterday my laptop died. I’m on disability so I don’t happen to have $1000 in my pocket so I had to set up payments
@tannertuner2 жыл бұрын
Must be an older video. Escalade is over $80K now. You can’t buy a Chevy Tahoe for $60K anymore. Not even a pickup. Have to say, I’ve never seen a $5000 TV. Big thin TVs are $500 now
@theloneranger87252 жыл бұрын
Technology is always very expensive when it first goes on the market. I remember when the first plasma TVs appeared for the first time. I saw one in a Best Buy, and it was only about a 42 inch model. The price? Ten thousand dollars. I'll never forget it. And some morons did buy it, folks with more money than sense. When VCRs first came out, I know the guy that bought the very first one in my state. It was an RCA top load VHS model with only the functions PLAY, RECORD, FORWARD, and REVERSE. It costs twenty five hundred dollars. IMO, this guy was a fool.
