I've noticed that Scrapman has a tendency to seemingly not really pay attention to his lock on reticle, and instead just focus on his aiming one. And it's not just this one, in a lot of the battles they've done, he'll pre-fire super hard without a lock, but his aiming reticle is red because it trying to get one. And in this, he keeps seeming to try to fire with the reticle, even though his lock is nowhere near Yzuei, and he's looking from an angle.

Yzuei made AI bees that protect a hive/queen and Scraps made the closest the game can get to a CIWS that can actually hit a projectile (Don't miniguns in-game can hit the rockets). Bet if he made it so that all the blocks went out at once, the results may improve. Or even in a different sequence, since if the rocket aims low, the sequence needs to almost finish to get to the lower blocks.

Would be interesting to see this challenge done again, but you guys build custom rockets for it. See what other kinds of defensive measures you can think up when things like guns are in the mix. Adversely, see what kind of missiles you can think up to bring in to the fray. Would be really interesting if you basically designed 3 missiles each, and got fire them up to 3 times at whatever the other's defenses are. Decoy spoofing vs. chaff dispersal/trophy system. Kinda neat. For those that may not know, chaff systems are basically just Military Grade party poppers filled with strips of aluminum foil. It's designed to scramble radar by giving the initial ping more to reflect off of, thus confusing and scrambling the return ping. It's largely obsolete nowadays, though. And a trophy system basically just throws a cloud of debris in the general direction of an incoming missile with intent to destroy the missile just before it reaches the target, but well outside the lethal range of its blast radius.

Trailmakers devs should add flares as a defensive item. It probably would have been better for the airborne update but I can see it not being too overpowered and you could get a notification when a fired weapon has a lock on you and if you press a button like 3 flares shoot out that pull it off target. Also a stealth mode where you have some other penalty to use. In space it would make sense for shutting off everything and coasting (going dark) and auto lock is disrupted. Maybe the penalty for that one is that it takes time to transition at which point you are vulnerable. As for airborne version maybe you can hide yourself from one direction only and can't shoot anything else, they could do it like the hemisphere shield generator but like 15 degree angle each so it would be costly if you tried to make it 360 coverage.

If you wanted to catch the inbound rocket, instead of doing a sequential stream it probably would have been better to do an alternate checker board. Fire every other one and then like a second later fire the other ones. Doing a stream while you're moving creates more gaps and inconsistencies in the fire pattern. If you're trying to get accuracy by volume, you want to shotgun spread it all at once, not so much machine gun fire them. However firing all of them at once would leave you vulnerable to Yzuei delaying his shot, so that's why I'd say go for the alternating checker pattern or essentially a two-shot beehive setup.

I think a good strategy for locking the aim assist correctly against the drones would be to come in from down low and try to have the base piece be the closest part of the build to your plane. It seems like the aim assist is based on the nearest target so coming in from above would never give you a chance to lock it in correctly.

For defense I'd do somrthing that gets shot out similarly to scrapman's, but jnstead of falling I'd give it sails that expand after it gets launched, which would make it a bigger target and I would also add something to make it kinda float, such as balloons or thrusters with logic, and for attacking yzuei's base I'd go for very low runs to get under the drones (should be easy for me cuz I have an obsession for low fly bys)

I think Scrapman's could've worked better if it didn't have that delay for the firing, or had a different pattern to it. I'm fairly sure the missiles lock on to the centre of the build, and the block launcher takes up only about half of it. The blocks also begin to fire from top down, and it takes quite a bit for it to reach the bottom. So more likely than not, the missile will strike the launcher in an area that hasn't launched its blocks yet. It still could preform quite well, it would just need a bit of a change in logic.
@dr.planlos42977 ай бұрын
The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't. In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was. The missile guidance computer scenario works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.
