Krishnan Sen yeah they did but didn't glorified the subject. Unlike Jeezy and T.i and the ones you mentioned which they did glorified the trap life at the time, they don't glorified to a point that it have to be in nearly every song, most of the songs are actually a combination mostly conscious based with some trap elements. As for the new fools in this era they say some nonsensical and praise the lifestyle like it's a good thing and praise others who do it or want people to do the same. The media think its a good thing, which they keep sugar coating the fact while trap music is for people who wants to have fun and can still be manipulative which is happening now and lot dumb kids/teens are actually mirroring the actions of those rappers and think it's cool to disrespect adults at the same damn time.

I'd say the whole Memphis scene created "trap" music. They were the ones who who started using those type of beats. The subject matter may not entirely be about trap, but it's definitely the backbone of what we hear today. Of course Three 6 mafia, Tommy Wright, Dj Squeeky, Dj Zirk and the rest of the underground scene of Memphis is way better than today's rap.

T.I is the Trap king. Point, blank, period. I remember it vividly. So you young, new nigga’s better give him his respect. He is a Trap Legend. And that Dime trap is gonna be a fire album! Also, why is Jeezy acting all self righteous all of a sudden? I mean I understand evolving as a man. But he is the main one proclaiming, and referring to himself as the trapper of all trapper’s. In his music back then and today, he is still talking about being the king of the Trap. Now don’t get me wrong, I like Jeezy’s music. But away from his music, this dude is the “king” of contradictions. This dude skates around questions better than rick Ross does. Ya dig.
