That is because our mainstream media were as equally culpable for the mishandling of the pandemic as were the government. They called for even harsher and longer lasting measures than those that were imposed with such disastrous consequences. Mr. Redwood made many excellent points, mostly on the principle that the more scientists participating in a debate, the smaller the chances of just a few getting things wrong become. I listened to Mr. Bridgen's speech too. His was concerned more directly with the ambitions of the WHO and it was a depressing, but unsurprisingly low attendance of fellow MPs listening to it. It would seem that those in the limited space allowed for the public may have outnumbered the MPs by ten to one. It is unsurprising because the vast majority of our MPs are clearly quite happy to give responsibility to others to make decisions on our behalf, thereby avoiding responsibility (and blame) themselves, whilst continuing to draw their generous salaries and enjoying their many perks. It is depressing because it is further evidence of what a lily-livered, lazy and useless shower our MPs are. We should, however, be grateful to Mr. Bridgen that at least some of us know of this massive transfer of sovereignty that seems about to happen.

FYI... The Biden administration is actively supporting and contributing to the changes to the IHR and pandemic treaty. In 2020 then-President Trump halted US financial support for the WHO and began withdrawal from the existing agreements. Trump took that action after the WHO provided cover for China regarding the origins of Covid-19 and was slow to warn the world of the danger. On his first day in office Biden signed an executive order restoring the US support of WHO and his admin has quietly been active in the process of amending the documents that would give the WHO far more power globally.

The gentlemen is avoiding the core flaws inherent in the structure of the WHO. - Firstly that the executive is unelected and secondly that they are funded to a significant degree by private investors who stand to financially benefit from their decision making process. As member countries, either you insist or the executive being elected by member countries and or you ban any kind of private funding for such an entity. Or preferably both. IMO the entire organisation should be dismantled as they have already made numerous basic errors and shown themselves to be non scientific in their bias. - Why do we need some centralised, so called, authority when ideas, research data and remedial action plans can be shared at the speed of light among the highly qualified, scientific and medical expertise already present in each of the member countries?

One thing that stood out for me too, apart from the question, was the hypocrisy. The reminder, of our individual Rights, under our Laws as a Sovereign Country. Whose Government should listen to the voice, of the people of this Country? 😂 So ironic, from one who is not Authourised, Elected or supports Democracy !! Going back to the question though, more needs to be done, to make everyone aware of what is happening. Clearly Media are not in support of this, predictably. Waiting to report when done & dusted no doubt 🤔

Be interesting how many MP would turn up for this if the WHO stated in amendments, no need for MP in countries as well as what the public thinks . I have a feeling there would have been more of them there . Only concern when their jobs and livelihood are affected. Don't they realise them not turning up has just done that exact thing ,they are serving us .

It is essential that MP's listen to John Redwood. He is spot on. It is amazing and very worrying that this "Agreement" is even being considered. IT MUST BE STOPPED.
@abagatelle11 ай бұрын
John Redwood argues it would be an error for the UK government to sign a treaty giving the World Health Organization (WHO) sole power to decide when there is a health emergency. This would reduce the UK's decision-making powers over its own health policy. Redwood believes the UK should continue collaborating with and being a member of the WHO, but should not hand over decision-making powers to an external body without local knowledge of circumstances. Redwood calls for a public inquiry and debate regarding the WHO's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, questioning why they focused narrowly on vaccines over exploring other treatment options. There was not enough WHO focus on ventilation, isolation hospitals, protecting vulnerable groups, and inconsistencies in country reporting on COVID deaths. Redwood argues for more accountability, debate, and humility from the WHO. The UK has valuable medical and pharmaceutical expertise to contribute globally. Redwood urges the government not to "sell short" the UK's capabilities by signing away health policy decision-making powers.

As a non-Tory (and now horrified at what Labour would do in the WHO realm), I find John Redwood's contribution to this debate very heartening. I can only hope that his respectability with his party conveys the importance of this issue and prompts more of his fellow backbenchers to step up to the mark.

Thank you for bringing this to us, John. It is appalling that so few of your MPs were in attendance, but we have come to expect that, unfortunately. That said, it was a bit encouraging that there seemed to be a few more than usual. Still and all, Britain should serve as example to other countries where there seems to be no debate at all about these crucial issues. WELL DONE!! 🇨🇦

This was well presented by Sir Redwood and provided great points as to why further debate is needed to consider having 1 establishment control the health of the world. The WHO’s way being the ONLY way. Scientific inquiry, debate by global scientists (non-paid for ) is required as this is how we expand our knowledge for the betterment of humanity’s health & well-being. Thank-you John for providing this video. Always a beacon of light shining the way through the darkness🙏

A WHO analogy Let us imagine a waste basket fire in an office of a high rise building. Who is best placed to deal with the fire? Trained personnel in the office who can assess and fight the fire appropriately using the tools at hand? Or, the local fire department, issuing mandatory instructions remotely? Mandatory Instructions based on incomplete information that has to be implemented without question? Disaster beckons.
@pigeonpoo182311 ай бұрын
Not 'advising remotely' but 'demanding remotely' and then the idiots in the building staring at the bin with the little fizzle going out and the idiots demanding everyone wear fire fighting equipment (unless you declare yourself sane and therefore exempt) and getting everyone in the whole town to do likewise. Then everyone in the town must take a new anti-smoke med to protect them and their neighbours. And noone going, 'fuck off you morons'
