Would like to see a follow up on repair and testing. Will you?

Couldn't find part 2. When you hooked it up, did you dicover the reason for the butchery was the power amp?
@audiiophile_small_room5 жыл бұрын
thats because who ever had it last by passed the the built in amp and ran the wire out the handle to his stereo amp idk why people do this had a few speakers myself like that that

punkrock_grave_hifi_addiction I know why they did it it’s obvious: the plate amp in a pa sub doesn’t accommodate to rca lfe or high pass inputs. Neutrik and xlr which most people Do not have on their amplifiers. 😉

In most cases it’s because they’re not getting the response they want from a 1200$ subwoofer or whatever this thing costed, so they start feeding the subwoofer more power

I know what happened here, I use two 18 inch woofers (jbl jrx100 salvaged) in my setup. The plate amps on those pa woofers, do not accommodate to normal rca lfe inputs. The plate amps have xlr balanced and neutrik connectors usually. So they pulled the handle off. And then hooked it up directly to their amp to make it “work” they had to cut it. Because they did not pull the woofer to check if it had terminals. And they didn’t even know it’s a quick connect on the amp which they could have pulled off. So they cut the wires (just all of them in their ignorance), and dangle the wires out the handle. Must have sounded like shit too, cabinet is closed for a reason 😆 Tell me if I am wrong

I was thinking along those same lines myself so if you're wrong I am too I guess.

Someone couldn't afford a $10 adapter and cut the wires and hooked the sub straight to their 25 yr old Kmart RCA receiver and thought it sounded good until the receiver kept going into protect mode and they thought the sub was bad, so they sold the sub as it is for $30 and went and bought more meth so they could have more bright ideas and ruin other things around their home

Did you do a follow up video on the "repair"?

Someone was hiding their stash in the subwoofer.

Intermittent plate amp? Bypassed as diagnostic to be sure it was not a driver problem.

Man that is extremely weird. My experience with repairing stuff is mostly with consumer electronics like phones and computers, and that looks to me like somebody (whether the previous owner or otherwise) didn't know what they were doing and tried to get the unit good enough to be sold as-is. I'd ask the customer if he purchased it from an electronics store or off the street. (EDIT you said that the speaker was new? that's even weirder) I would bet that one person damaged it, and another tried to sell it by just getting everything back inside the cabinet. But who on gods earth would cut the wires to begin with? Weird. Maybe the quality control at the factory fell asleep?

Prolly to hook the sub to another amplifier

There is sadly only one logic explanation on this one.... probably been stolen by some drug addicts , and they did not have the equipment and cables to make it work... screws out the handle and cut the wires to hook it up to a regular amplifier. They use it like that for some time and probably sold it again to buy more drugs .... Why do i say it have to be stolen?because people who buy expencive equipment like this knows how to use it, and dont do stupid stuff like this....

I've seen people do this kinda thing when they want to use a subwoofer in a car. Only explanation I have for bluetooth wire is they didnt know how to unpair it.
@tommyK72823 жыл бұрын
Probably had something to do with the person not having the correct amplifier for the inputs on the back of the subwoofer

there HAS to be more to this than you were told

Haha..,the wiring resembles installation wire (110/120 Volt, here 220/230 Volt)..
