This video is gold dust! Thanks for sharing, it's a great reminder never to touch a Fairy Tree. I tell many stories from people just like this who believed wholeheartedly in, and were wisely cautious of, the Fairies. A common approach was (and still is) "I don't believe in the Fairies, but that doesn't mean they're not there!".

Philip was an absolute madlad back in the day, very good Craic in his prime. He was a scholar in the Gaelic and Greek tradition - also a swimmer who used to compete on a national level.

The stories of the fairy trees must be true, My dear departed father-in-law told me how he badly injured his eye, he felt that a fairy tree growing in one of his fields needed to be trimmed back, as he stared to cut back the ends of the long branches, a branch swung and hit the side of his head badly injured one of his eyes.

I would only gaze adoringly at the fairy tree. I would not cut one down ever.
