Well it was really only 2 (or even 1) In 06-07 Tevez wasn't there, the trio was Ronaldo, Rooney and Saha. It was an amazing trio, but Saha faced many injuries. 07-08 was the trio season. They won EPL and UCL. 08-09 it's true they won the EPL, but the trio was not the same. Berba came in and changed the dynamic, Berba was given preference over Tevez (one of the few mistakes by Fergie IMO). They didn't play as frequently together and Tevez felt betrayed, so he left.

@GoatLiffy Жыл бұрын
@TheLusianPopa I think that's why people tend to underrate him cause they think of him as an out and out striker and pure goalscorer the way Kane, Aguero, and Suarez was. Striking numbers-wise, of course his will look somewhat underwhelming, but if you pair that with the fact that he played 90% of his career as a second striker then you'd start to see his true value. And like the comment above mine, the one season where Sir Alex played him as a proper 9, he immediately scored 30. That's also with the fact that he got a massive injury midway through the season. Any striker who played ahead of him will have a great season. Ronaldo, Tevez, Saha, RVP is to name a few. Guy is the only player in PL history with 200+ goals and 100+ assists, I'd say that it proves something about his consistency as an all-rounder. Ironically, Rooney himself said finishing is one of his weaker points in the game, so to get to those goals with what he described as "subpar" finishing is not too shabby.

I'm surprised Berbatov was not added to Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney. These 4 were really deadly.

Completely disagree. Berbatov was the one that broke up the successful front line. In 2007/08, the football was electric with all 3 able to play across the front line, break at speed; they were unstoppable. Berbatov came in, Tevez dropped to the bench and the team fluidity dropped because Berbatov had no pace and could only play centrally. Proof is in the pudding- Ronaldo Rooney and Tevez scored a combined 79 goals in 2007/08. Berbatov added to the mix the following year and the number of goals actually went down- 75 amongst the 4 of them when you'd have thought it would have increased. We ended up losing Tevez and got stuck with Berbatov who struggled for a further few years. I think he's a great footballer but went to completely the wrong team at the wrong time.

Sometimes people forget how slow and unexplosive play generally was back in the day. When you watch footage and compare it to today's defenders, the standard required to be dominant like that now is so much higher because the sheer athleticism is on another level now, skill isn't enough. It’s not even a debate Ronaldo tevez Rooney. 93 goals in 42 premier league games 140 goals and 60 assists in 2 seasons. Champions league winner and premier league winner in year one, year two premier league winner and champions league finalists only lost because they played the best team this world has ever seen.
@gavinpage1121 Жыл бұрын
With firmino being there prior to mane and salah the latter two were brought in to link up with firmino through data analytics.. the rest on this list pre date data and analytics recruitment players who looked good was just signed and then coaches just tried to make a team out of what they had with much less thought process going into what they actually needed. That tells you everything you need to know about which was the best front 3. That liverpool trio was a machine on and off the ball the others weren't
@Delboy0 Жыл бұрын
I’m sorry but Liverpool front three were the best because no only did they all get crazy numbers, they reach multiple champions finals, something none of the other trios can claim.
@84snide Жыл бұрын
You don't know your history do you. Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez got to two champions league finals in a row in 08 and 09 and won multiple prems something the others can't claim. By far the best front three.

The dark horse is actually D. Silva-KDB and Aguero especially during Pellegrini era.
@vxrdrummer Жыл бұрын
I'd agree with those 3. They were ridiculous. Not a traditional front 3 as so much as they were a striker and 2 attacking midfielders, rather than 3 out and out forwards, but they were different class. With Yaya behind them as well, it was incredible to watch. I hated them, but you can't deny how good they were together at City. David Silva was a dream of a player and easily one of the best in his positionever in the Permier League, and Aguero was just inevitable when he got the ball. It was a goal. KDB is still looking like he is from another planet even at the age of 53. If he was fit all the time, City would surely have been even more dominant.
@bimapriambada1098 Жыл бұрын
@@vxrdrummer unfortunately they didn't get the spotlight as mucg as Aguero and Yaya during that time (even though Yaya and Aguero deserved it).
