You could say Steph has a greater influence on players because his style of play seems more attainable than Jordan’s to the average kid. So a whole generation is working on 3s, doesn’t matter how tall or athletic you are, as long as you can get it to the rim from distance you feel like you’ve got a chance to follow the Steph Curry path. Most kids realized very early that they were never going to fly like MJ, so while they could still be fans of his they couldn’t really try to model game after his

Jordan changed the way the upcoming players approached the game, too. He is literally the reason why coaches and now believe wings as a concept that can win championships. Before Jordan, there was a belief that you needed your best player to be a big man to win. Jordan changed the game more than anyone else.

shocked it's so controversial. Despite all the great 3pt shooting in the past, Steph was the first to start taking 12, 13+ threes per game and the rest of the league has followed suit. most teams are just trying to copy the 2014/15 warriors. The thing about the warriors is, while Steph has no comparison, plenty of guys come close enough to run that same offense effectively, and it is maybe the most important skill in the league right now, so across the board the league is better at shooting threes. MJ's Bulls were similarly amazing and dominated the league even more so, but you couldn't derive a blueprint from watching their team: the ability of MJ, especially, just made it impossible to replicate.

Another great buzzer beater was another one that Paul had a hand in. It didn't end a series but it was amazing. Ray Allen at the buzzer for the Celtics vs Charlotte. Boston was down 2, on defense of an out of bounds play for Charlotte, with 4.7 seconds left. The ball was tipped, Paul got the steal and all in the same motion, he found Ray Allen for the game winning 3 at the buzzer. Odds were stacked against the Cs to lose and they found a way!

Pierce just a vicitim of the moment. D'Antoni and analytics changed the game. The Suns with Steve Nash started this. Bigs like Dirk, Cwebb, Kukoc, Horry, Bosh, Love, KD had the biggest influence on todays players because there are so many bigs who shoot 3s and this has nothing to do with Steph. The rule changes, soft calls, no touching, landing space and the fact that so many bigs shoot from 3s is the reason small players knock down so many 3s but percentage-wise they only shoot 1.5% better than 30s ago. Steph is the greatest shooter, so he just happen to be the best to execute this new playing style. MJ globally is the most influencel player ever. Second is Kobe

Steph made it okay for whole teams to allow those long range shots. He isnt solely responsible for things like positionless basketball etc; but he was the face of that movement. Even though mike D should also get some recognition, you need players to execute it same way Aristotle was responsible for Alexander The Great.

Jordan was the first player to lead the league in scoring and lead a franchise to multiple championships, also the ended the narrative that you needed a dominant big man to win a championship which led to the hero ball era that Paul played in and shooting percentages were low

I’m around kid’s basketball all the time because of my son and I remember growing up, we used to say, “Kobe!” These kids now say, “Curry!” If a kid makes multiple shots in a row, Curry’s name gets brought up. If a kid is making free throws, Curry’s name is brought up. I saw a kid make a three in game and do the “night night” in the first half of the game!

I wanna be I wanna be I wanna be like Mike. Paul is crazy. Jordan made the game global. Athletes sign to nike because of mj When mj retired it was who's the next jordan. They compare players to jordan not steph. It's gotta be the shoes money. It's mj hands down.

How are we defining impact? No one has impacted the game of basketball globally more than MJ. Fewer people MIMIC Jordan because most of us CAN'T. Lots of people think they can jack up 3s, so it's easier to mimic his style of play (even tho no one shoots like Steph). From the global popularity of the game, to shoes, to global branding, Jordan influenced basketball far more than other people.
