The NBA has been around since 1946. Over the years, we have seen some unbelievable individual seasons by all-time great players. In an effort to reward these performances and distinguish the best from each particular season, following the 1955-1956 season, the NBA began handing out an annual MVP award, also known as the Maurice Podoloff Trophy. Just as there have been debates and controversy surrounding this award in various seasons, such as Steve Nash winning it over Kobe Bryant in 2006, people have also disagreed about which of those MVP seasons stood out above the rest. Let’s settle the debate once and for all and answer who had the greatest single season ever.

Wilt has never in his career played with more hof in thier primes then russel in the same season and yet he was able to overcome russel in 1967 which I argue was his greatest season. Wilt Chamberlain in '66-67. MVP and championship year. Averaged 24 points, 24 rebounds and 7 assists on 68% shooting. 21 points, 29 rebounds and 9 assists in the playoffs. Almost a triple double with 20 in 2 stats! Plus he beat Russel's Celtics...nobody else can say they did that when Bill played the whole series.Kind of an unusual choice compared to his statistically insane years but this was the year he got that championship and showed he could dominate in a way that's conducive to winning.

There has never been a greater regular season then 1962 wilt. The best individual seasons in NBA history, 4 were Wilt's, 3 Kareem's, 2 George Mikan, and MJ 1. Kareem had the best individual season and the only player ever to eclipse 25 win shares in a single season 25.32. Wilt finished second with 24.98 and Mikan third with 23.43 win shares. MJ's first appearance on this list comes in at 9th with 21.23. The top three individual seasons by a player in NBA history were Kareem 71-72, Wilt 63-64, and Mikan 50-51. Steph Curry's record breaking season at 2015-2016 is more of a revolutionary season. I am a big Curry fan but this season is not the best ever because of the 3-1 flop. It would be the best ever if not for the finals. But hey, he'd definitely up there and earn everyone's respect and remake the course of NBA scouting and drafting forever.

Good list, but the 3 biggest snubs are the following, but I can only justify taking out two of the players listed in this video ('87 Magic and '71 Kareem): 1. Hakeem '94 - MVP, DPOY, Finals MVP, Championship. 27-12-4-4 averages and 29-11-4-4 in the playoffs. 2. Wilt '67 - MVP and lead his team to a 68-13 record plus a championship. He averaged 24-24-8 shooting 68% FG (a record for over 10 shot attempts pg) and may have won DPOY over Russell. 3. Russell '62, who rightfully won the MVP that year and put up 22-26-5 in the playoffs and ofc winning the title (with 30-40-4 in game 7). If there were a finals MVP and DPOY back then he'd win that as well. Also Jordan '91 is the best player basketball has ever seen and should be (narrowly) above Shaq '00 and Lebron '13 as the best seasons.

Also MJ’s 91 season should take the cake. MJ not only averaged better numbers than Shaq he was defensive 1st team which was not mentioned in the video he also averaged an astonishing 31 pointer per game in the playoffs and Finals. And predictably was Finals MVP. I think MJ had the best season. But Shaq’s was great too
