Which Championship team was your personal favorite in the history of the league? Let me know in the comments below! Some caveats to consider about the "Four Factors Score" I used in this work: (1) It has no adjustment for strength of schedule, (2) It is calculated using only regular season numbers. With those caveats in mind I think it is still a cool way to rank teams across different seasons or even within a season. I may use this in the future for team comparisons/power rankings if it proves to be useful.

I think it's a good metric to look at regular season performance, but I think playoff performance is sorely missed in the analysis. Chelsea Gray's run this postseason proves some teams/players play better in the playoffs.

Thank you for the compliment, and the feedback! For the playoff numbers, the WNBA stat page unfortunately splits each teams Four Factors into a regular season and playoff splits without an easy option to lump them together, so I just stuck with the larger sample size of the regular season numbers.

I would like to see you do your top 5 WNBA champs of all time. Not based on any numbers, but just raw talent and execution. And who do you think is the best team the league has ever seen. I personally still think the 98 Comets is the best team I have ever seen in the league.

😲 NO NUMBERS!!! 😲 Lol, I'd have to think about that one, on first thought I think I agree with you on the 98 Comets at #1, prime MVP Cynthia Cooper was SPECIAL. I personally might go with the 2020 SEA Storm at #2, that bubble season was weird but they were demolishing everyone, and Stewie was getting any shot she wanted. I'd have to think about 3-5.

Great analysis about these championship teams. I remember the Houston Comets was very dominant when Cynthia Cooper and Sheryl Swoops was there. I thought they held the top spot.
