This year ill be traveling all over the state of Texas to find the best chicken fried steak in Texas
This week i am exploring north/central area of Texas

Simple review:
Steak was nice thickness and easy to cut(It was very tender to cut and chew,you actually could have used a butter knife)
The thickness of the steak was perfect,not to thin and not to thick
Nice thin crispy perfectly light golden brown breading on steak (very flavorful)
Gravy was perfect consistency, not too thick ,not too thin
Definitely hand breaded and wasn’t frozen ,it was very hot as it got to my table( definitely freshly fried)
The size and portion was good size for lunch( i actually ate the complete steak)
The price was 13.00 and was a great a deal that included fries,salad and biscuits ( they didn't have mashed potatoes) i actually prefer to have mashed potatoes with my meal
EXTRA POINTS:
Loved the size and atmosphere of this place(a typical small town restaurant,where everyone gathers for lunch)
Very experienced wait staff,very fast, kind,efficient and friendly
The place is actual very spacious and inviting,i can this is where al the locals eat at on a daily basis( the servers knew everyone by name and what they usually order)
This place also has a old throw back soda shop that offers old school ice cream sodas and malts and shakes
Overall Rating 7.5 out of 10

Interesting town! Old School town!!! LoL. When I seen that Old horse trough where the horses drank there water I had to laugh. That's real Old!! Brought back memories. I got baptized in a horse trough. I really enjoyed all the old school paraphanalia. Soda shop, Chuck Norris ranch and history of the water plant. Chicken fried steak ! Another one bites the dust!!! Hey Chef. I was just scrolling through my phone and saw an advertisement for a restaurant in Eagle Pass , Texas that supposedly serves up a chicken fried steak that will feed a family. It's called thr Wagon Wheel. They say it's been around since 1944. Think it's really a BBQ restaurant but the chicken fried steak is supposed to be phenomenal. You may want to add it to your list. 😊

Hello Chef Jeff. The lowered works in mysterious ways. Today when I got up at five I didn't think anything about it. When my nurses came in to go over shift change. They both looked at me and said oh, you're awake. I was like of course I am why wouldn't I be. That's when they told me I had been in a semicoma. They told me I have been in this ICU Since the seventh of september. I was like OK they said don't you know what day it is. That's when I looked at my phone and it set october the first. I was like this is a joke isn't it's october the first. They then told me that I was a very, very sick woman and I was in a semicoma. They told me I had woke a few times but I was only awake for an hour or two I don't even remember that. They told me that my son was down in the cafeteria getting breakfast. I was like hes here. They told me that hes been sleeping in the waiting area this whole time. When my son and daughter-in-law got back to my room. They were both chatting and when they got the doorway. They were like mom, mom, and I said yes. They both ran up to me and they both threw their arms around me. They were crying. I was crying and I remember my son saying Mom, God does answer prayers. Praise God 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 I will be playing catch-up might take me a while. God Bless You Chef Jeff 🙏🏻

I think if you’re going to judge chicken fried steak equally, apples to apples, you just judge the taste & texture of the steak and the gravy. Everyone likes different sides. I prefer Texas toast. I hate corn & mashed potatoes. Besides, you can always add salt & pepper, ask for more gravy, substitute sides. It’s the steak & gravy that really make or break the meal.

No, no issues here. It's just that everyone isn't as blessed as you are. At over $9.00 per pound oxtails aren't affordable for everyone especially people with families to feed. As you state, you get yours for free, that's a blessing in disguise for you. I'm just saying that some people do have spouses and kids and can't eat like you can afford to do. That's all.
