We did a neighborhood hotdog cookoff blind taste test. It was,a few years ago, but Pan fried Nathan's (in butter) won. Boiled Oscar Mayer was second place. I love this type of experiment! 🥰🤣

There's nothing like wandering down to Coney Island in Brooklyn and going to the original Nathan's location or the one on the boardwalk and getting the real deal. They are longer than the store stuff and taste so much better. I live nearby in Queens and it's a 15-minute drive. Sometimes I go just for Nathans.

We have those huge Nathan dogs in stores, "colossal" style, huge 1/4 lb monsters, and are kind of expensive at regular price, over $10 for eight, but often on sale for about $5-6 . Time to stock up!

Of the national brands, Hebrew National and Nathan’s Famous are my favorites. If you ever do anything like this again, here are two local Chicago brands to try (I don’t know if they ship or not): Red Hot Chicago and Vienna Beef. Also, if you have an Albertsons-owned store, look for the Signature Kitchens uncured beef franks. I would call them a pretty good value.

We buy those Albertson's dogs!! They taste just like the Costco Food Court dogs. The only downfall is the price...$10 for a pack of 10. When they go on sale, we stock up.

Once upon a time I stopped at a local convenience store and grabbed a quick hot dog, it was Nathan's brand, but it was a spicy hot dog, and honestly it was one of the better hotdogs I've had with no condiments that didn't involve owning a meat grinder. I have not been able to find the spicy Nathan's hot dog again for the life of me though.

Of the Beef dogs I can find at the avg store Nathan's was my favorite follow by Hebrew Nat. these are the only two my daughter will eat but I found a new favorite that I'm waiting to see if it makes the list

My dad was in an nursing home for 8 years before he passed. Watching this vid reminds me the nursing home did not serve hot dogs, "choking hazard." I brought dad lunch every Thursday, and would always ask, "what do you want next week?" About 85% of the time: Hot Dog. So, I'd go to the local (to the nursing home) Sam's Club, and go in and get a Nathan's hot dog, topped with mustard, ketchup, relish. Then, I'd get to see dad get one of the few pleasures left to him, a nice, hot, hot dog, topped the way he liked it. Sorry he's passed; I miss taking him something he'd like.

Salty and skimpy is the way I'd describe Hebrew national. Nathan's on the other hand are hands down one of my two favorites, the other being our local favorite Sahlens.

I highly recommend Hoffy natural casing hot dogs if you can find them in your area. Typically smart and final will have them. Similar to the dogs used at Pinks hot dog restaurants. They are amazing.

I like hot dog relish and mustard on my dogs. I notice that a lot of people have never heard of hot dog relish. I can only find it in a couple of stores and only two companies makes it. Mt. Olive and Heinz makes it, I like Mt. Olive. It's basically relish mixed with mustard. I was wondering if anyone ever heard or tried it?

At 65 years of age, I had been eating Nathan's for longer than I can remember. Unfortunately, the quality has slipped drastically, at least in my opinion. The package weight has gone from 16 oz. to 12 oz. ... The flavor and texture are not what they used to be. I have noticed this decline for quite awhile. Then I got turned on to Costco's all beef hot dogs many years ago. The taste, texture, size and overall quality is superior to Nathan's, once again, in my opinion.

I buy Nathan's over the cheaper brands because they aren't loaded with fat, salt and corn syrup. The only problem I have is the sorbitol which isn't technically sugar but is in a lower amount. I hope you can try Hebrew National too which follow Kosher food guidelines. If you were in Texas, Larry I'd send you to HEB for a few different hotdogs.

My mom is 92 and Nathan's is her hot dog of choice. Can't say these dogs are life extenders but, hey, she's 92. PS She's from Maine and Maine is famous (or notorious) for its bright red native W.A. Bean & Sons hotdogs. Some call them "red snappers.: So Downeast: red hot dogs with baked Jacob's Cattle beans on a Saturday night.
